  • Publication number: 20110202657
Abstract: Provided is a method for scheduling cloud-computing resource, and a system applying the method is herein disclosed. It is featured that the load history record becomes a basis to obtain a computing pattern for each computing node based on a request. The load history is the basis to predict the future computing capability, and accordingly to distribute the computing task. The cloud-computing capability can therefore be advanced. The method firstly receives a computing request. The request includes a number of computing nodes, a start time of computing, and a length of computing time. A computing resource table is established based on the load history for each node, and used to calculate availability and confidence. After that, a resource expectation value is obtained from the availability and confidence. After sorting the expectation values, one or more computing nodes are selected for further task distribution.

  • Publication number: 20110173181
Abstract: A search engine and a method achieve timeliness of documents returned in a search result by a relevancy feedback mechanism driven by the frequency in which a URL is returned in recent searches. The relevancy feedback mechanism includes one or more random processes which determine whether or not a cached or indexed web page associated with a URL in the search result should be refreshed. In addition, the random processes also determine whether or not hyperlinks in the cached or indexed web page should be followed to access related web pages. Accesses of web pages resulting from the operations of the random processes are used to update any document index maintained by the search engine. Relevancy scoring functions implemented in look-up tables are also disclosed. A more accurate relevancy scoring function is achieved using a lexicon based on anchortexts of extracted hyperlinks of web documents.

  • Publication number: 20110148804
Abstract: For overcoming a defect that a conventional surface capacitive touch panel is not capable of determining more than two touch points so that the surface capacitive touch panel is not capable of determining any multi-touch commands, a type of a multi-touch command is determined by detecting relative movements between touch points and corresponding intermediate points on the surface capacitive touch panel, where the relative movements may be indicated by relative distances or relative directions. Therefore, a bottleneck that the surface capacitive touch panel cannot be used for detecting a type of a multi-touch command may be overcome, and the surface capacitive touch panel may be widely applied for touch panels required to detect multi-touch commands.

  • Publication number: 20110125703
Abstract: A method and a system for recognizing power consumption behaviors of electric appliances in a loop are provided. When a variation value of a power consumption information of the loop exceeds a threshold, a current value of the power consumption information is served as a main loop factor value of the loop, and a similar combinative factor value close to the main loop factor value is looked up in a behavior-factor mapping table. If the similar combinative factor value is not found, the main loop factor value corresponding to a new power consumption behavior is obtained according to the variation value of the power consumption information to reconstruct the behavior-factor mapping table. After obtaining the similar combinative factor value from the behavior-factor mapping table, a current electric appliance power consumption behavior of the loop is determined according to a power consumption behavior combination corresponding to the similar combinative factor value.

  • Publication number: 20110121988
Abstract: A method and a system for recognizing the statuses of electric appliances are provided. In the present method, a loop is taking as a unit for recognition, and a power consumption factor sensor which is capable of measuring a single power consumption factor is used such that the current status of each electric appliance in the loop can be recognized by comparing the probability distribution of the power consumption factor. Since it is not needed to dispose an extra measuring device on each electric appliance, the cost of recognizing the statuses of the electric appliances is significantly reduced.

  • Patent number: RE43087
Abstract: An image scanner performing multiple scanning operations for a single scan line is disclosed. The additional scanning operations are performed between two adjacent pixels. For a double scanning mode, the CCD performs one scanning operation for a scan line at a first position. Then, the CCD is moved from the first position to a second position along the X-direction to perform the other scanning operation at the second position. The distance between the first and the second positions is a half of the distance between two adjacent pixels. The scanning data of the two scanning operations are alternatively arranged and converted into final image data. By this way, a low-pixel-density CCD can be used to obtain a high-pixel-density scanning quality.
