Abstract: A remote controller includes an input module including an input panel and a controller coupled to the input panel for generating coordinate information of the input panel. The remote controller further includes a data transmission interface for transmitting data to an electronic appliance, a microphone for transforming sound waves into audio signals, a speaker for transforming audio signals into sound waves, an image capturing module for capturing and converting image of a user to image signals, an image display module for converting image signals of a remote user received to an image, and a control unit coupled to the input module, the data transmission interface, the microphone, and the speaker, for controlling the data transmission interface to transmit audio or images signals and data corresponding to the coordinate information generated by the controller to the electronic appliance.

Abstract: A multi-media device comprises a storage device to store multi-media files and a touchpad with a handwriting area thereon for user to input by handwriting to search or to name a file in the storage device. The storage device and the touchpad can be in a same device, or respectively in a separate master device and a control device. The multi-media device further comprises a display to show the input characters by handwriting on the touchpad.

Abstract: A touchpad has a smart man-machine interface. Through a computer system in an automobile, the smart man-machine interface controls systems and multimedia equipments in the automobile, such as an air conditioner and an audio/video player. The interface provides several control modes, such as to control with a keypad, with a writing pad or with a mouse. And the computer system can be connected with a few sets of the touchpad and a display through wire lines or wireless connections.

Abstract: The present invention provides a touchpad module which obtains a touching sensibility and a uniform transmission of light to avoid non-linear problem by using a soft touch pad.

Abstract: A remote controller comprises a touchpad having a handwriting region to be operated to generate an input signal, a driver coupled with the touchpad, and a microcontroller coupled with the driver to respond to the input signal to generate a control signal for a controlled apparatus, so as to give a command to the controlled apparatus, or to name a file or to search a file on the controlled apparatus. On the touchpad, several key patterns may be provided or one or more regions may be arranged, to provide various input functions of key mode, mouse mode, scroll mode or graphic mode.

Abstract: A system for automatic notification of caller ID, e-mail identification and short message is disclosed for a user to receive incoming caller ID, short message and e-mail identification from a telephone. The e-mail identification includes some of the profile of an e-mail and is provided by an e-mail identification data server. The system includes a receiver for receiving and decoding the caller ID, short message and e-mail identification. The decoded data is displayed in an output apparatus or is read out by voice. In some applications, the receiver can be integrated to the current electronic apparatus, such as television, computer, personal digital assistant, electronic dictionary, electronic watch, etc.

Abstract: In a system for integration of multi-function and information service, an electronic apparatus is connected to a teletelephone line for a user to edit message or instruction to transmit to the electronic apparatus through the teletelephone line. The electronic apparatus demodulates/decodes the received signal and then transfers it to its destination for remote control of intelligent appliance, delivery of message, placement of e-advertisement and various functions. In an embodiment, TV set is used as a data output medium for the electronic apparatus to output the received data in a video and/or audio format. In another embodiment, the electronic apparatus is integrated into a TV set to provide multi-function and information service in addition to entertainment function.

Abstract: A multiplication device is provided for forming the product of a first and a second N-bit input binary number. The multiplication device receives the two input binary numbers and forms a two's complement product expressed in a product sum and a product carry term. The product sum and product carry terms are formed by providing an offset generation means which generates a numerical binary offset of the value determined by X=(4-2.sup.-(n-1)) and a partial product generating means which generates first and second sets of partial products. An addition means adds the offset value and first and second sets of partial products are added to form the resultant product sum and product carry terms. The product sum and product carry terms are conveyed to a second addition means wherein they are added to form a two's complement product result. Preferably the multiplication device is provided with an accumulation means to form the sum of the products of all successive pairs of input binary numbers.
