  • Patent number: 9292436
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system are described, which generally relate to an interconnect routing transactions to target IP cores, including two or more channels making up a first aggregate target. The two or more channels populate an address space assigned to the first aggregate target and appear as a single target to the initiator IP cores. The interconnect implements chopping logic to chop an individual transaction from a first initiator IP core whose address sequence crosses a channel address boundary from a first channel to a second channel within the first aggregate target into two or more burst transactions. A first chopped burst transaction is chopped to fit within the address boundaries of the first channel and a second chopped burst transaction is chopped to fit within the address boundaries of the second channel.

  • Publication number: 20160065224
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure support a method and apparatus for fast frequency throttling and re-locking in a phase-locked loop (PLL) device. Aspects of the present disclosure present a method and apparatus for operating in an open loop control (OLC) mode of the PLL device for generating a periodic signal. During the OLC mode, clocking of circuitry interfaced with a digitally-controlled oscillator (DCO) of the PLL device can be disabled. A PLL output frequency associated with the periodic signal generated by the DCO can be controlled directly through a digital control word input into the DCO.

  • Publication number: 20160021636
Abstract: Many indoor location services do not require precise knowledge of the position of a mobile device, but simply whether a mobile device is within a particular zone of an indoor area. Existing signals in an indoor space may provide enough information to distinguish between different zones of an indoor area, allowing a server to provide indoor location services without requiring the installation of new signal sources in the indoor area.

  • Publication number: 20150320832
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods for treating or preventing cancer and metastasis. More particularly, the present invention relates to methods for treating or preventing cancer by decreasing the expression and/or activity of Flightless I. Also provided are methods for inhibiting the growth of a cancerous cell and methods for inhibiting formation and/or growth of a tumour which also rely on decreasing the expression and/or activity of Flightless I. The present invention also extends to methods for diagnosing cancer, methods for determining if a subject is susceptible to developing cancer, and methods for assessing progression of cancer based on the finding that increased expression and/or activity of Flightless I is associated with cancer development, growth and metastasis. The present invention also provides methods for screening for a candidate therapeutic agent useful for treating or preventing cancer, and related pharmaceutical compositions and kits.

  • Publication number: 20150238942
Abstract: A process for regenerating a silica-supported depleted alkali metal catalyst is described. The level of alkali metal on the depleted catalyst is at least 0.5 mol % and the silica support is a zero-gel. The process comprises the steps of contacting the silica supported depleted alkali metal catalyst with a solution of a salt of the alkali metal in a solvent system that has a polar organic solvent as the majority component. A re-impregnated catalyst prepared by the process of the invention any comprising a silicazero-gel support and a catalytic metal selected from an alkali metal in the range 0.5-5 mol % on the catalyst, wherein the surface area of the silica support is <180 m2/g is also described. The invention is applicable to a process for preparing an ethylenically unsaturated acid or ester comprising contacting an alkanoic acid or ester of the formula R1—CH2—COOR3, with formaldehyde or a suitable source of formaldehyde.

  • Publication number: 20150219560
Abstract: Methods and systems are presented for acquiring photoluminescence images (2) of silicon solar cells and wafers (4) as they progress along a manufacturing line (36). In preferred embodiments the images are acquired while maintaining motion of the samples. In certain embodiments photoluminescence is generated with short pulse, high intensity excitation, (8) for instance by a flash lamp (50) while in other embodiments images are acquired in line scanning fashion. The photoluminescence images can be analysed to obtain information on average or spatially resolved values of one or more sample properties such as minority carrier diffusion length, minority carrier lifetime, dislocation defects, impurities and shunts, or information on the incidence or growth of cracks in a sample.

  • Publication number: 20150086105
Abstract: Methods are presented for improved detection of persistent or systematic defects induced during the manufacture of a product. In particular, the methods are directed to the detection of defects induced systematically in the manufacture of photovoltaic cells and modules. Images acquired from a number of samples are combined, enhancing the systematic defects and suppressing random features such as variations in material quality. Once a systematic defect is identified, steps can be taken to locate and rectify its cause.

  • Patent number: 8972975
Abstract: A disclosed method may include, in a computing device including at least one processor, a memory, and an operating system with a plurality of modes of execution, accessing instructions received by the computing device for installation and optimization use at least one of the plurality of modes of execution. The instructions may include a plurality of subroutines. A fingerprint for each of the subroutines may be generated. Each fingerprint may be associated with a number of instructions in a corresponding subroutine. The subroutine may also include determining, for each of the plurality of subroutines and based on the fingerprint, performance score and estimated compilation time associated with each of the plurality of modes of execution, for compiling the corresponding subroutine. One of the plurality of modes of execution may be selected based on maximizing a total performance score for the plurality of subroutines, and limiting total compilation and installation time.

  • Publication number: 20150049052
Abstract: Often times, a touch-sensitive area of a touch-screen of a communication device is touched by a finger or a hand of a user. In some instances, a touch-based stylus of the present disclosure is available to the user. The user touches the touch-sensitive area of the communication device with the touch-based stylus. The communication device induces a current within the touch-based stylus. This induced current causes a voltage to accumulate within the passive object when touched by the user. This accumulated voltage transfers to the touch-sensitive area when the touch-based stylus touches the touch-sensitive area of the communication device. Thereafter, the communication device compares signal metrics of various regions of the touch-sensitive area to detect an instance and/or a location of the touch from the touch-based stylus.
