    Abstract: A conductor lifter adapted to be mounted to a tower for temporarily supporting an energized conductor comprises a support arm having a base end and an opposite cantilevered end and a crank arm pivotally mounted on the cantilevered end, the crank arm having lower and upper crank arms. A first actuator is coupled to the support arm, and an elongate member is mounted to, so as to extend between, the upper crank arm and a first driver of the first actuator so as to rotate the crank arm about the pivotal coupling when the first actuator is actuated. A lower end of the lower crank arm is selectively elevatable by a second actuator relative to the upper crank arm so as to elevate a conductor when held by a conductor retainer on an insulator mounted to the lower crank arm. A method for using the conductor lifter is also provided.

    Abstract: A dense array of sensors positioned in a virtual environment is reduced to a sparse array of sensors in a physical environment, which provides sufficient information to a controller that responds to environmental conditions and parameters in the physical environment in substantially the same manner as it would to the same environmental conditions and parameters in the equivalent virtual environment. Data from a sparse array of virtual sensors is correlated with data from a dense array of virtual sensors and is used for generating control signals for hardware devices that influence a real or virtual interior environment. The correlated data and the control signals are used to train an artificial intelligence based controller that then controls the values of the parameters of the interior environment. A model of the interior environment is created using basic parameters in a computer-aided design application.

    Abstract: An apparatus for providing an autonomous fire extinguishing system including a tank filled with an extinguishing agent with a targeting system with independently mounted targeting servos and targeting gimbal to position an emitter and an infra-red camera. A microcontroller provides control signals to the targeting servos and an actuation valve. One or more heat sensors, smoke detectors, humidity sensors, and/or carbon monoxide detectors are electrically connected to the microcontroller; and the microcontroller continuously reads in the sensor data till appropriate conditions indicating a potential fire are detected; these appropriate can be based on temperature, rate of temperate increase, smoke levels, humidity, and/or carbon monoxide levels. Once the appropriate conditions are detecting, the microcontroller commands the targeting gimbal to position the infra-red camera to a number of calculated positions, taking infra-red pictures covering the environment requiring protection.
