  • Patent number: 11850669
Abstract: A slot milling sequence includes a plurality of material removal processes or operations. Each of the material removal operations includes utilization of an end mill tool. Some of the material removal operations utilize trochoidal tool paths, whereas other material removal processes utilize one or more profile cuts. Some material removal operations that utilize profile cuts remove material from both sides of the cut in a single pass, whereas other material removal operations remove material from one side of the cut via a first pass of the end mill tool and remove material from the opposing side of the cut via a second pass of the end mill tool.

  • Publication number: 20230342518
Abstract: The present invention relates to the real-time simulation of sound in three-dimensional virtual environments. In particular, a geometric method based on the principles of acoustic radiosity determines the room impulse responses of a virtual environment with arbitrary polygonal surfaces. The complexity of the method is of the order of the square of the number of patches that define the virtual environment. The room impulse responses are convolved with an audio signal and output through a speaker to simulate reverberation within the virtual environment, which corresponds to a physical environment.

  • Publication number: 20230241621
Abstract: Described embodiments generally relate to a hydrocyclone for isolating particles within a fluid. The hydrocyclone comprises an upper conical section defining at least one inlet to receive the fluid, a vortex finder extending into the upper conical section, and an overflow port fluidly connected to the vortex finder and configured to expel a portion of the fluid out of the upper conical section; and a lower conical section defining an underflow port to expel the remaining fluid out of the lower conical section, the lower conical section being fluidly connected to the upper conical section to define a single hollow volume. The shape of the hydrocyclone causes particles smaller than a predetermined size to be isolated by expelling the particles from the overflow port.

  • Patent number: 11687438
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for performing adaptive thresholding on key performance indicator (KPI) values using an online machine learning algorithm as the KPI values or the data from which the KPI values are derived is being ingested. For example, the system can identify outliers in a moving window of KPI values. To implement the adaptive thresholding, the system may identify seasonality and/or trend components in historical KPI values. When a new KPI value is obtained, the system may remove the identified seasonality and/or trend components from the KPI value, and determine whether the modified KPI value is an outlier using sketches or quantiles. The system can then repeat this process for each subsequently received KPI value.

  • Patent number: 11606914
Abstract: Laser light is coupled to optical fibers arranged in a sheet, which may be in the form of netting, mesh or fabric. Scattering centers or bends in the optical fibers allow the coupled light to escape from the sides of the fibers. Depending on the selection of wavelengths for the lasers, the resulting luminous sheet may be used for illumination of crops grown in vertical farms. The laser wavelengths excite plant photopigments for predetermined physiological responses, and the light source intensities may be temporally modulated to maximize photosynthesis and control photomorphogenesis responses. Each laser may be independently controlled, and at least one laser may emit ultraviolet-C radiation. The luminous sheet may be used for purification of air flowing through an air duct.

  • Patent number: 11590252
Abstract: Given the complexity of architectural spaces and the need to calculate spherical irradiances, it is difficult to determine how much ultraviolet radiation is necessary to adequately kill airborne pathogens. An interior environment with luminaires is modeled. Spherical irradiance meters are positioned in the model and the direct and indirect spherical irradiance is calculated for each sensor. From this, an irradiance field is interpolated for a volume of interest, and using known fluence response values for killing pathogens, a reduction in the pathogens is predicted. Based on the predicted reduction, spaces are built accordingly, and ultraviolet luminaires are installed and controlled.
