  • Patent number: 12287244
Abstract: An electrical device including a surface which may be exposed to heat derived from operation of the electrical device such that the temperature of the surface increases during operation. The surface includes a temperature sensor including first and second electrodes separated by a layer of control material. The material properties and/or configuration of the control material are selected such that the electrical conductivity of the control material increases with increasing temperature so that electrical current is able to pass between the first and second electrodes once the temperature of any part of the control material has reached or exceeded a predetermined temperature. The temperature sensor extends over substantially the whole of the surface. A system including the electrical device and a method of controlling the electrical device is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 12287662
Abstract: An electronic device for simulating load currents when testing a tow-vehicle brake controller is described. The electronic device utilizes current monitoring circuitry to measure a current of an input signal from the tow vehicle. The electronic device also includes a series of resistors that are arranged in parallel on the input signal as wells a series of switches (e.g., relays or transistors) that can activate and deactivate each one of the resistors. Microcontroller circuitry within the electronic device controls the series of switches based on the measured current of the input signal, and, by extension, controls the series of resistors applied to the input signal. In so doing, the electronic device is able to simulate a desired load current on the tow-vehicle brake controller being tested.

  • Patent number: 12288118
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an antenna for an RFID device includes providing a conductive material on a substrate and performing a first cutting process on the conductive material to define an initial antenna. Additional cutting processes are performed on the initial antenna to define a final antenna, with the first and any subsequent cutting processes being different. The subsequent cutting processes are capable of more finely defining regions of the antenna, such as in some embodiments when the first cutting process is a die cutting process and a second cutting process is a laser cutting process. While the subsequent cutting processes are capable of more finely defining regions of the antenna than the first cutting process. By combining multiple cutting processes, a final antenna equivalent to one made using only one or more of the subsequent cutting processes may be created at a lower cost.

  • Patent number: 12288070
Abstract: An apparatus includes a processor core that includes an instruction decode circuit and a control circuit. The instruction decode circuit is configured to decode instructions, including a plurality of store instructions used to store information in a memory hierarchy. The control circuit is configured, after a particular store instruction is decoded, to preserve store information related to the particular store instruction, including a first program counter value for the particular store instruction. In response to decoding a subsequent load instruction with a corresponding second program counter value, the control circuit is configured to determine, using the first and second program counter values, whether a dependency has been established between the subsequent load instruction and the particular store instruction. In response to a determination that the dependency has been established, the control circuit is configured to use the preserved store information to perform the subsequent load instruction.

  • Patent number: 12285843
Abstract: A control system for controlling abrasive blasting apparatus and an abrasive blasting apparatus including such a control system. The control system controls delivery of air and blast media to a blast nozzle of the abrasive blasting apparatus. The control system includes a deadman's switch, the deadman's switch features a user operable control. The user operable control is moveable from a first position, where the control system causes the abrasive blasting apparatus to not deliver air or blast media, to a second position where the control system causes the abrasive blasting apparatus to deliver both air and blast media. When the user operable control is in an intermediate position between the first and second positions, the control system causes the abrasive blasting apparatus to deliver air but not blast media. The control system may have control elements whose state may be sequentially changed by the user operable control as it moves.

  • Patent number: 12288154
Abstract: Adaptive verifiable training enables the creation of machine learning models robust with respect to multiple robustness criteria. In general, such training exploits inherent inter-class similarities within input data and enforces multiple robustness criteria based on this information. In particular, the approach exploits pairwise class similarity and improves the performance of a robust model by relaxing robustness constraints for similar classes and increasing robustness constraints for dissimilar classes. Between similar classes, looser robustness criteria (i.e., smaller ?) are enforced so as to minimize possible overlap when estimating the robustness region during verification. Between dissimilar classes, stricter robustness regions (i.e., larger ?) are enforced. If pairwise class relationships are not available initially, preferably they are generated by receiving a pre-trained classifier and then applying a clustering algorithm (e.g., agglomerative clustering) to generate them.
