  • Publication number: 20070283121
Abstract: A method and apparatus handles concurrent address translation cache misses and hits under those misses while maintaining command order based upon virtual channel. Commands are stored in a command processing unit that maintains ordering of the commands. A command buffer index is assigned to each address being sent from the command processing unit to an address translation unit. When an address translation cache miss occurs, a memory fetch request is sent. The CBI is passed back to the command processing unit with a signal to indicate that the fetch request has completed. The command processing unit uses the CBI to locate the command and address to be reissued to the address translation unit.

  • Patent number: 7210279
Abstract: A device includes isolated hoppers defining independent passageways converging downwardly towards a central and unitary area. A conveyor belt assembly is disposed subjacent to the hoppers, traverses the passageways, and travels along a linear path passing through the unitary area. A mechanism is included for depositing a napkin onto the conveyor belt. The napkin depositing mechanism is connected to the conveyor belt assembly and is spaced adjacent to one end portion thereof. A mechanism is included for simultaneously folding the napkin and horizontally stacking the eating utensils such that the napkin becomes folded about the eating utensils before being ejected from the simultaneous folding mechanism. A receiving conveyor belt assembly is disposed beneath the simultaneous folding mechanism for transporting the combined napkin and eating utensils. A storage bin is laid adjacent to the receiving conveyor belt and houses the combined napkin and eating utensils for transit.

  • Patent number: 6974312
Abstract: A pumping element for a hydraulic pump is provided. The pumping element includes a cylinder forming a compression chamber and having a discharge port. A piston having a pressure surface, a spill port, and a passageway connecting the pressure surface with the spill port is disposed in the cylinder for reciprocal movement between a first position and a second position. The pressure surface of the piston is adapted to increase the pressure of a fluid disposed in the compression chamber as the piston moves between the first position and the second position. The pressurized fluid flows through the discharge port of the cylinder. A metering sleeve is disposed around the piston and is configured to selectively cover the spill port as the piston reciprocates between the first and second positions. The metering sleeve has a groove that is adapted for fluid communication with the spill port as the piston reciprocates between the first and second positions.

  • Publication number: 20040205663
Abstract: Editing operations are monitored for operations for which information must be stored in order to properly apply an undo or undo/redo sequence to plurality of files. A snapshot is taken and persisted before such an operation is performed. Upon the execution of an undo or redo command, the persisted snapshot is retrieved and applied to the newly generated editing element.

  • Publication number: 20030233614
Abstract: A component can be edited from within the context of a hosting file. A system and method for providing an in-place editing surface for a component such as a file, document or control, within the context of the hosting file is described. A non-persistable container is generated for the hosting file and another non-persistable container (e.g., an editing frame) is generated for the component. The current contents of the component are loaded into an editing frame. Modifications made to the component within the editing frame are saved and the hosting file is displayed. Any changes made to the component are visible in the hosting file.

  • Patent number: 5217691
Abstract: The invention provides a nonenzymatic method useful for the semiquantitative determination of glucose, a test composition and test device. Glucose concentration in an aqueous test sample can be determined by preparing a test solution by contacting an aqueous test sample and a dihydroxide component, at an initial pH above 6.5, capable of forming a complex with glucose which complex formation releases a proton, and determining the final pH of the test solution. The invention also provides a self-indicating device format which allows the determination of glucose concentration by merely counting the number of pads which have changed color. No comparison to a color chart is required. The glucose test of the present invention is free of the interferences found in enzymatic glucose tests.

  • Patent number: 5185247
Abstract: A method and composition for the enzymatic assay of a liquid test sample, such as urine or serum, for a specific analyte, such as glucose. The method utilizes a dry phase test strip comprising a carrier matrix impregnated with a stabilized enzyme reagent composition including an oxidase enzyme, such as glucose oxidase, that is capable of interacting with the analyte of interest; a chromogen that changes color in response to the analyte-oxidase enzyme interaction to reveal the presence and/or concentration of the analyte in the test sample; and a stabilizer, such as a hydrazide, like GIRARD'S Reagent T, or an amino acid, like arginine, or an amino acid derivative, like the tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane sale of glutamic acid, to improve the heat stability and shelf life of the dry phase test strip.

  • Patent number: 4956301
Abstract: A new and improved test device and method of determining the presence and concentration of fructosamines in a test sample. The test device includes a test pad comprising a carrier matrix incorporating an indicator reagent composition capable of interacting with fructosamines to produce a detectable or measurable response. The carrier matrix of the device includes a bibulous matrix, such as filter paper, or a nonbibulous matrix, such as a polymeric film. In addition, a new and improved indicator reagent composition comprising a dye, such as tetrazolium violet; a suitable buffer; and an accelerator compound is incorporated into the carrier matrix to provide a test pad demonstrating sufficient color resolution and having sufficient sensitivity to fructosamines in a test sample. Therefore, a fast, more accurate and trustworthy fructosamine assay of a liquid test sample, such as whole blood or serum, is achieved.

  • Patent number: 4683209
Abstract: A viability test device wherein the viability of a test composition for the determination of an analyte of interest can be determined by simply wetting the device with ordinary water. The viability device can be prepared in three formats: a control or calibrator device, an internal control device and a self indicating device. Unreacted analyte, or an analog thereof, can be incorporated in a limited defined portion of a dried carrier matrix incorporated with a test composition to provide an internal control test device. When wetted with water, a positive optical response, usually color, indicates the test composition can provide a viable test for the analyte. The internal control test device is particularly advantageously used by diabetics in their own homes where a negative test response could be due to the desired control of the user's condition or due to deterioration of a test composition because of unfavorable storage conditions.
