  • Patent number: 5965974
Abstract: A heat-shrink band for a cathode ray tube (CRT) has a light weight, corrects the deformation of an object, such as a panel of a CRT due to the air pressure, effectively prevents implosion of the CRT, can suppress the color deviation, and in addition is excellent in formability. The method of fabricating the heat-shrink band includes a composition of cold rolled steel sheet such that the heat-shrink band offers both a high elongation characteristic at an ambient temperature and a high stress of yielding point characteristic after the heat-shrink process. The reduction of the weight of the heat-shrink band contributes to an overall reduction of the weight of the CRT.

  • Patent number: 5729439
Abstract: A printed wiring substrate in which first and second parts are mounted in adjacent with each other on soldering lands formed on an insulative board and put to reflow soldering, wherein the width of the land on which at least one of the parts is soldered is made greater on the side where the pants oppose to each other and made gradually narrowed toward the opposite side. By varying the width of the soldering land in reflow soldering using a cream solder, the surface tension of the solder is exerted such that the two parts are drawn to each other and brought into intimate contact thereby enabling close contact soldering.

  • Patent number: 5661716
Abstract: A magneto-optical recording medium includes a substrate, a first magnetic layer formed on the substrate and constituted by a perpendicular magnetization film, a dielectric layer formed on the first magnetic layer at a side opposite to the substrate, a second magnetic layer formed on the first magnetic layer through the dielectric layer, and a third magnetic layer magnetically coupled to the second magnetic layer. Each of the first, second and third magnetic layers essentially consists of a rare earth-transition metal amorphous alloy. The first magnetic layer has a film thickness to allow transmission of light incident from the substrate to the dielectric layer while the second magnetic layer has a film thickness which does not allow transmission, of light passing through the first magnetic layer, to the third magnetic layer.
