  • Patent number: 6755068
Abstract: A simultaneous two-sided iron-deep drawing process for producing vessels such as metal cans. After being used, the cans can easily be squashed. A difference in height between the inner die and the outer die or the profile radii of the two dies are varied so as to change the longitudinal wall strength of the vessel. The work material is held between the two dies so that both sides are simultaneously ironed and thereby a tubular structure is obtained.

  • Publication number: 20040092953
Abstract: A biotissue excising instrument according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a tubular sheath inserted into a body, a manipulator inserted into the sheath so as to advance and retreat freely through the sheath, and a treatment portion provided at a leading end of the manipulator and having a loop portion that can be unfolded and contracted to accommodate biotissue to be excised. A slit is formed in a side of a leading end of the sheath to project and sink the loop portion of the treatment portion so that the manipulator is advanced or retreated to laterally project or sink the loop portion out of or into the sheath through the slit to unfold or contract the loop portion, thus excising the biotissue in the loop portion.

  • Patent number: 6254687
Abstract: In a chemical vapor deposition system, susceptors are supported by a pair of turntables which are disposed in a vertical and parallel arrangement. A plurality of wafers to be processed are arranged circumferentially on opposing surfaces of the susceptors, and heater units are arranged behind the turntables. Because the wall surfaces exposed to the material gas are mostly covered by the wafers to be processed, any wasteful deposition of material on the chamber surfaces can be avoided. Thus, the need to clean the surface of the chamber wall is minimized. Such material deposition is not only wasteful but also could become a source of contamination as such deposition tends to peel off.

  • Patent number: 6228174
Abstract: In a heat treatment system for heating a semiconductor wafers, around a processing chamber is defined an enclosed heating chamber that can be either filled with gases or evacuated. The heater elements consist of halogen infrared lamps received in concentric grooves having a mirror surface. It is therefore possible to achieve a favorable heat insulation which contributes to a high heat efficiency. When the heating chamber is filled with gases or air, it is possible to achieve a controlled rapid cooling of the processing chamber, and this contributes to a short turnaround time of the heat treatment system.

  • Patent number: 6206064
Abstract: At a portion of an inclined main groove from a tread center to an auxiliary groove of a pneumatic tire, an angle of inclination &thgr;1 of a groove wall surface at a block step-in end side is set to be smaller than an angle of inclination &thgr;2 of a groove wall surface at a block kick-out end side. Therefore, rigidity of step-in ends of blocks defined by inclined main grooves is lowered such that a striking sound can be reduced. Further, at a portion of the inclined main groove from the auxiliary groove to a tread end, an angle of inclination &thgr;1 of a groove wall surface at a block step-in end side is set to be greater than an angle of inclination &thgr;2 of a groove wall surface at a block kick-out end side. Therefore, rigidity of kick-out end sides of blocks defined by the inclined main grooves is lowered. Heel-and-toe wear which occurs at the kick-out end sides is suppressed, and an increase in pattern noise caused by heel-and-toe wear is suppressed.

Heater units are arranged behind the turntables, each of the heater units comprising a plurality of concentric grooves defined in a surface of a base behind the corresponding one of the turntables, a heating element received in each of the grooves, a cover plate placed over the grooves so as to seal the interior of the grooves from the exterior of the grooves, and a conduit connected to a vacuum pump for maintaining a higher level of vacuum in the grooves than outside cover plate. Thus, the interior of the grooves is effectively sealed, and intrusion of contaminants into the heater unit can be avoided.
