  • Patent number: 4824501
Abstract: To obtain a uniform initial cord tension in an auxiliary layer of a radial tire made up of a toroidal carcass, a belt, the auxiliary layer and a tread rubber, the belt is formed by winding inextensible cords around a drum with a radius of curvature substantially the same as that of a tire tread. Further, when the belt is formed by winding the cords around a flat drum, the auxiliary layer is formed on the belt by winding a heat-shrinkable cord around the belt in spiral fashion in such a way as to apply a higher tension at both the ends of the belt layer than at the center thereof. The radial tire thus manufacture is excellent in high-speed tire durability and tire uniformity, without causing belt separation trouble at high speed.

  • Patent number: 4798769
Abstract: An electrode supporting conduit tube for electrical heating of underground hydrocarbon resources comprises a metal conduit tube and an insulating member adhered on and around the outer peripheral surface of the metal conduit tube. The insulating member is a laminated body of a web of glass fiber impregnated with water-dispersion varnish of a hot-water resistant and thermoplastic resin and a polyether/ether/ketone resin film, which is formed by first alternately winding the glass fiber web and the resin film on and around the outer peripheral surface of the metal conduit tube for a plurality of winding turns, and then subjecting both polyether/ether/ketone resin film and glass fiber web thus wound on and around the metal conduit tube to shaping under heat and pressure at a heating temperature of from 350.degree. C. to 450.degree. C, and under a pressure of from 10 kg/cm.sup.2 to 200 kg/cm.sup.2.

  • Patent number: 4785853
Abstract: A conduct pipe produced by the process of:producing a metal conduct pipe; andattaching a powdery, tubular or filmy polyether ether ketone resin to the outside surface of the metal conduct pipe by means of pressure with fusing at a temperature of 350.degree.-400.degree. C. is disclosed. The conduct pipe is particularly useful in an electrode apparatus for collecting underground hydrocarbon resources by an electrically heating method.

  • Patent number: 4785852
Abstract: A conduct pipe covered with an electrical insulating material, which is obtained by a process comprising winding a polyether ether ketone resin film around the outside of a metal conduct pipe, carrying out impregnation treatment in vacuum under pressure with using an impregnant resin comprising an ether bonding epoxy resin, and thereafter hardening by heating, is disclosed. The conduct pipe is particularly useful in an electrode apparatus for collecting underground hydrocarbon resources by an electrically heating method.

  • Patent number: 4779658
Abstract: To improve the durability and the riding comfortableness of a pneumatic safety tire having at least one carcass ply, at least one belt layer, and a pair of crescent-shaped cross-section reinforcing layers, each of the reinforcing layers comprises a higher elastic rubber layer with a hardness of 70 to 85 in Shore A and an elastic modulus of 25 to 60 kg/cm.sup.2 and an anticrack rubber layer with a hardness of 55 to 70 in Shore A and an elastic modulus of 10 to 30 kg/cm.sup.2. The maximum thickness of the reinforcing layer is preferably 4 to 12 mm. Load applied to the tire during run-flat travel is supported mainly by the higher elastic rubber layer, and crack generation due to tire deformation is reduced by the presence of the anticrack rubber layer.

  • Patent number: 4360263
Abstract: A copying apparatus includes a copy paper cutting device which is operated when an original document or an optical device for exposure reaches a predetermined position. The original document or the optical device is stopped when a trailing edge of a copy paper is detected. After at least the leading edge of the copy paper passes through the copy paper cutting device, the copy paper is fed out entirely from an apparatus frame without operating the copy paper cutting device. This results in that the last copy paper sheet of the roll of copy paper is not shorter than the distance between transport rollers in the copy paper passageway to prevent a copy paper jam.
