Abstract: Systems and methods for real-time user verification in online education are disclosed. In certain example embodiments, user identifying information associated with a user and a request to access online education content may be received from a user device. A face template including historical facial image data for the user can be identified. Current facial image data can be compared to the face template to determine if a match exists. Biometric sensor data, such as heart rate data, may also be received for the user. The biometric sensor data may be evaluated to determine if the user is currently located at the user device. If the user is currently located at the user device and the current facial image data matches the face template, access to the online education content may be provided to the user at the user device.

  • Publication number: 20170230394
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a protection system including machine learning snapshot evaluation. A device may comprise a machine learning engine (MLE) to generate snapshots of device operation. The MLE may use active or planned operations in the snapshot to learn user behavior. Once normal user behavior is established for the device, the MLE may be able to determine when snapshots include unusual behavior that may signify a threat to the device. Snapshots determined to include unusual behavior may be transmitted to a remote resource for evaluation. The remote resource may include at least a user behavior classification engine (UBCE) to classify the user behavior by characterizing it as at least one type of use. The snapshot may be analyzed by the UBCE to determine if potential threats exist in the device, and the threat analysis may be provided to the device for evaluation and/or corrective action.

  • Publication number: 20170185630
Abstract: In various embodiments, a biometric rating system (“BRS”) may generate ratings based on biometric data. The BRS may receive biometric data, along with location data, from personal devices of a user. The BRS may identify a location at which the biometric data was measured. The BRS may generate one or more ratings associated with the location, such as ratings for a venue or event at the location. The BRS may also perform calibration of the biometric data. For example, the BRS may be configured to partition biometric data measurements into multiple segments to be associated with different locations, different areas at a location, or different portions of an event. The BRS may calibrate biometric data based on activity or social media or proximity data. The BRS may generate a rating based on the calibrated biometric data. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.
