  • Patent number: 4266374
Abstract: A grinding machine comprising a truing apparatus for truing a grinding wheel made of cubic boron nitride. A traverse carriage of the truing apparatus is mounted for movement in a direction parallel to the axis of the grinding wheel. A truing head carrying a truing wheel is mounted on the traverse carriage for movement toward and away from the grinding surface of the grinding wheel. A detection member is mounted on the truing head to be movable toward the grinding wheel. The truing head is first fed toward the grinding wheel until the contact between the detection member and the grinding wheel is detected. The truing head is then fed toward the grinding wheel by a truing amount in response to the detection of the contact between the detection member and the grinding wheel.

  • Patent number: 4225486
Abstract: A glycoprotein isolated from Aloe, a plant belonging to Liliaceae, having a molecular weight of 1.8.times.10.sup.4 and a ratio of protein to sugar of 8 to 2 by weight; yielding only a single band upon SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis without 2-mercaptoethanol treatment and yielding two discrete bands upon SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis with 2-mercaptoethanol treatment; having hemagglutinating and cytoagglutinating activity for transformed cells; having mitogenic activity for lymphocytes, cap forming activity for lymphocytes and cultured transformed cells using fluorescence labeled glycoprotein; having binding reactivity with some types of serum proteins; and having the capability of activating complement components.

  • Patent number: 4151684
Abstract: A grinding machine wherein a CBN grinding wheel is rotatably carried to grind a workpiece on a work support device and is provided with a re-truing device, in addition to a truing and dressing device rotatably carrying a truing roll and a counter roll. When a truing and dressing instruction is generated, the CBN wheel is first trued with the truing roll, is then dressed by free abrasive grain supplied between itself and the counter roll and is finally re-trued with a diamond impregnated truing bar carried on the re-truing device. A re-truing infeed of the truing bar against the CBN wheel is considerably less than a truing infeed of the CBN wheel against the truing roll, and therefore the re-truing is effected on cutting edges of the wheel abrasive grain damaged by the free abrasive grain in dressing, whereby the cutting edges are made somewhat dull.

  • Patent number: 4099934
Abstract: Resinoid-bonded grinding tools are prepared by applying a liquid thermosetting resin to the circumferential surface of a disc-like base member and then after coating metal-coated abrasive grains with a liquid thermosetting resin, mixing the coated grains with a powdered thermosetting resin. The mixture of the coated grains and the powdered thermosetting resin is press-formed upon the surface of the base member and then thermally set by heating.

  • Patent number: 4073281
Abstract: An apparatus for successively truing and dressing a grinding wheel made of cubic boron nitride (CBN) with a diamond-impregnated truing roll and a metal dressing roll. The truing and dressing rolls are rotatably mounted on a roll carriage which is slidably mounted on a grinding machine so as to feed the rolls toward the CBN wheel and thereafter traversely move the rolls along the wheel surface of the CBN wheel. After truing with the truing roll, a coolant fluid mixed with liberation abrasive grain is supplied toward a gap of a predetermined distance, smaller than the mean size of the abrasive grain, which is established between the CBN wheel and the dressing roll, so that the liberation abrasive grain acts to grind and remove bond material from the wheel surface in order to accomplish the dressing of the CBN wheel.

  • Patent number: 4050342
Abstract: A music box toy comprises a music box contained within the toy, a movable appendage partially projecting externally of the toy, means for driving the appendage, and a connecting member for operationally connecting the appendage with the drive means. During playing time of the music box, the appendage is moved by the drive means. On the other hand, when the appendage is externally moved, the connecting member is adapted to move away from the drive means.

  • Patent number: 3973925
Abstract: A manufacturing process for a metal bonded grinding tool includes the steps of; (a) preparing a rim of porous material, (b) press-forming the abrasive grains in contact with the rim to a specified structural dimension, and (c) forcibly passing a chemical plating liquid through a contacting body of the abrasive grains and the rim obtained in step (b) for continuously making the metal precipitate on the surfaces of the abrasive grains and in the pores of the rim so as to uniformly and continuously bond therebetween in any grinding tool of desired dimension.
