Abstract: A server device configured to store an Internet protocol (IP) registry, the registry includes information for a user device, the information includes particular identifiers for the user device, an IP address for the user device, and a particular access point name (APN), where the particular APN corresponds to a service, an application, a network, or data used by the user device; receive a query that includes identifiers and an APN; perform, using the IP registry, an operation to identify the information, for the user device, based on the identifiers and the APN; obtain the information for the user device, when the identifiers match the particular identifiers stored in the IP registry and when the APN matches the particular APN stored in the IP registry; and send, to an application server, the information for the user device, where the IP address permits the application server to communicate with the user device.

Abstract: A system to receive, from a user device, a request to establish a communication session to allow an emergency call to be placed or transferred to a public safety access point (PSAP) server; determine whether the request includes a first indication that the emergency call is being initiated via the user device or a second indication that the emergency call is being handed off from a base station associated with another network device, place the emergency call, to the PSAP server and via a first gateway device associated with the network device, when the request includes the first indication; and transfer the emergency call, to the PSAP server and via a second gateway device associated with the other network device, when the request includes the second indication, where the second gateway device processed the emergency call prior to being handed off from the base station.

Abstract: A system may be configured to receive traffic that is destined for a user device, determine a type of content associated with the traffic, determine, based on the type of content, a base station paging scheme, and locate the user device by using the base station paging scheme. In some implementations, a system may include a traffic content analyzer device to analyze header information of a data packet to identify a type of content of the data packet, and output a message that is based on the identified type of content; and a mobile management entity device to receive the message from the traffic content analyzer device, and locate an intended recipient of the data packet by paging one or more base stations using a paging scheme that is based on information in the message.

Abstract: A device receives Internet protocol (IP) traffic flow data from network devices of a wireless network, groups the network devices into sets based on the IP traffic flow data, and estimates, based on the sets, information associated with the network devices. The device also groups the network devices into clusters based on the estimated information, ranks the clusters, and assigns IP address pools to each of the network devices based on the ranked clusters. The device further provides the assigned IP address pools to authorization, authentication, accounting (AAA) devices of the wireless network.

Abstract: A first device is configured to store network load information regarding one or more network devices connected to the first device. Each one of the one or more network devices may have a connection range. The first device is further configured to receive information regarding a second device. The information regarding the second device may include information identifying a network device, of the one or more network devices, in which the second device is within connection range of and network load information regarding the network device in which the second device is within connection range of. The first device is further configured to provide the information regarding the second device to a third device; receive, from the third device, a first policy based on providing the information regarding the second device to the third device; and provide the first policy to the second device.

Abstract: Bandwidth for a radio access network may be efficiently allocated for certain voice over LTE (VoLTE) services. In one implementation, a request associated with traffic flows may be received. Each of the traffic flows may be associated with an amount of guaranteed bit rate (GBR) traffic. The method may further include selectively summing the GBR traffic, to obtain an aggregate bandwidth value. The method may further include reserving an amount of GBR bandwidth corresponding to the previous version of the aggregate bandwidth value when a comparison indicates that the aggregate bandwidth value is less than the previous version of the aggregate bandwidth value; and reservation an amount of GBR bandwidth corresponding to the aggregate bandwidth value when a comparison indicates that the aggregate bandwidth value is not less than the previous version of the aggregate bandwidth value.

Abstract: A system may be provided that includes one or more servers to: set an availability status setting on an account, associated with a subscriber; receive a quota usage signal via a dedicated direct signaling interface, the quota usage signal indicating that a voice call minutes quota or a data usage quota is exhausted; and change the availability status setting on the account to unavailable for voice calls if the voice call minutes quota is exhausted; and/or change the availability status setting on the account to unavailable for data communications if the data usage quota is exhausted.

Abstract: A device provides, to a domain name system (DNS), a request for candidate network nodes to which to connect, and receives, from the DNS and based on the request, a list of fully qualified domain names (FQDNs) for the candidate network nodes. The device truncates the FQDNs in the list of FQDNs to create a list of truncated FQDNs corresponding to the candidate network nodes, and stores the list of truncated FQDNs in a buffer associated with the device.

Abstract: A server device in a long term evolution (LTE) network may store, in a memory, context information, associated with a prior communication session between the LTE network and a user device, where the context information permits a communication session to be established within a time period, the time period being less than another time period to initially establish the communication session or to establish the communication session without the context information. The server device may further receive a registration request associated with the user device; determine whether the memory stores the context information; perform, within the time period, an abbreviated registration operation to establish the communication session with the user device, using the context information from the memory, when the memory stores the content information; and perform, within the other time period, a registration operation to establish the communication session when the memory does not store the context information.
