In an example, an image sensor includes a pixel array, a data store to store data transmitted from the pixel array, an image signal processing unit to perform signal processing on the output of the data store to improve the performance of the image sensor, a defective pixel address storage unit to store an address of a defective pixel by using a fuse blowing technology, a controller for receiving address information of the defective pixels from the defective pixel address storage unit and controlling the operation of the image sensor, and a defective pixel compensation unit for receiving the address information of the defective pixels from the defective pixel address storage unit, substituting data of the defective pixels with data of normal pixels around the defective pixels, and providing the substituted data to the image signal processing unit.

    Abstract: Provided are a process for preparing an expandable polystyrene (EPS) resin using polyoxyethylene sorbitan monolaurate and a polyethylene wax synthesized from methylene oxide, and an EPS resin composition including a Sasol-wax which is a polyethylene wax synthesized from methylene oxide. The EPS resin is excellent in expandability and strength, and can be processed into a desirable foamed product even when it is subjected to short-term maturing after pre-expansion. Addition of divinylbenzene as a crosslinking agent at an initial stage of polymerization and addition of a mixture of butane, pentane, and cyclohexane as a blowing agent permit the EPS resin to be expanded at a high expansion ratio of 93 times or more. Further, addition of a polyethylene wax synthesized from methylene oxide at an initial stage of polymerization and addition of polyoxyethylene sorbitan monolaurate in the course of the polymerization, in particular when a polymerization ratio reaches 70-90%, can impart good strength to the EPS resin.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for manufacturing particles using corona discharge is disclosed. A discharge electrode is provided within a guide duct and reaction gases are supplied into the guide duct. A high voltage is applied to the discharge electrode and a low voltage is applied to the guide duct to generate a voltage difference therebetween. When heat energy is applied to the reaction gases, chemical reactions occur in the gases and particles are made by the chemical reactions. The particles form new particles centering around ions as nuclei which are generated by corona discharge and moves along the guide duct. A collecting plate positioned in front of the guide duct collects the particles.

The image forming apparatus has a voltage determination part for determining a predetermined level of a refresh voltage corresponding to a potential difference which is generated on opposite surfaces of the intermediate transfer belt, and a power supply for supplying the refresh voltage to the intermediate transfer belt so that the potential difference is offset. The power supply supplies the refresh voltage to the intermediate transfer belt through a certain roller which is in contact with the intermediate transfer belt. Accordingly, the potential difference caused by the polarization in the intermediate transfer belt is offset by the refresh voltage, and the variation of the resistance caused by the potential difference is prevented.
