Abstract: Some embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method. In this method, a semiconductor substrate, which has an active region disposed in the semiconductor substrate, is received. A shallow trench isolation (STI) structure is formed to laterally surround the active region. An upper surface of the active region bounded by the STI structure is recessed to below an upper surface of the STI structure. The recessed upper surface extends continuously between inner sidewalls of the STI structure and leaves upper portions of the inner sidewalls of the STI structure exposed. A semiconductor layer is epitaxially grown on the recessed surface of the active region between the inner sidewalls of the STI structure. A gate dielectric is formed over the epitaxially-grown semiconductor layer. A conductive gate electrode is formed over the gate dielectric.

  • Publication number: 20150365131
Abstract: In the present disclosure, several techniques are proposed to estimate the worst-case crosstalk noise and use it for bit-loading and SRA calculations so that fluctuating crosstalk when PET mode is enabled does not lead to system instability. One of the proposed techniques involves strategically placing some marker tones in the transmitters of the affecting lines. The noise floor may be inferred by interpolating the noise observed on these marker tones (tones that are always-on) and applying to the entire frequency band on the victim line. Another proposed technique involves periodically transmitting a set of marker symbols (fully loaded OFDM symbols), so that a victim channel can estimate the SNRs in a worst case crosstalk scenario.

  • Publication number: 20150364023
Abstract: The present invention is to provide a monitoring system including a plurality of motion sensing carpets and a monitoring device (e.g., a computer) electrically connected to one of the motion sensing carpets serving as a control unit while all the other motion sensing carpets directly or indirectly joined to the control unit serves as auxiliary units. The monitoring device is able to carry out a topology algorithm and then establish a topology matrix of the motion sensing carpets in a stepwise manner so as to obtain the relative location of each motion sensing carpet. When any of the motion sensing carpets is subjected to pressure caused by a senior member or child in the family toppling over thereon (e.g., an accident) and generates a sensing signal, the monitoring device can rapidly know from the topology matrix the exact location of the accident according to the sensing signal.
