  • Publication number: 20070139737
Abstract: A luminous apparatus capable of adjusting the luminance is equipped in a scanner. Before mounting the luminous apparatus in the scanner, a detective device is used for detecting luminance generated from the luminous apparatus. The luminous apparatus contains the electroluminescent elements, the branching levers, and the main lever. One end of each electroluminescent element is pivoted by a pivot while the other end is connected to one branching lever correspondingly. The main lever is connected to those branching levers. When the main lever is moved by an external force, the branching levers are moved and the electroluminescent elements synchronous rotate around their own pivots. Additionally, the positions of the main lever and the electroluminescent elements are fixed when a uniform luminance is detected.

  • Publication number: 20070139816
Abstract: A method for fabricating a magnetic head with a trapezoidal shaped pole piece tip is described. The body of the main pole piece is deposited; then one or more layers for the pole piece tip are deposited. A bed material is deposited over the pole piece tip material. A void is formed in the bed material over the area for the pole piece tip. The void is filled with an ion-milling resistant material such as alumina preferably using atomic layer deposition or atomic layer chemical vapor deposition. The excess ion-milling resistant material and the bed material are removed. The result is an ion-milling mask formed over the area for the pole piece tip. Ion milling is then used to remove the unmasked material in the pole piece tip layer and to form a beveled pole piece tip and preferably a beveled face on the main pole piece.

  • Publication number: 20070140778
Abstract: A ring mechanism for retaining loose-leaf pages comprises a housing and hinge plates supported by the housing for pivoting motion relative to the housing. Rings for retaining the loose-leaf pages comprise ring members mounted on the hinge plates for movement with the hinge plates between an open and closed position. An actuator mounted on the housing is moveable between a first position in which the ring members are open and a second position in which the ring members are closed. The actuator is in continuous engagement with the hinge plates when the ring members are closed resisting movement of the actuator. A travel bar is operatively connected to the actuator for movement with the actuator. The travel bar resists movement of the actuator when the ring members are open.

  • Publication number: 20070139152
Abstract: A balanced transformer having an auxiliary coil has a bobbin, a balanced coil set, a detective coil, and an iron core set. The balanced coil set and the detective coil is wound onto the bobbin. The iron core set penetrates through the bobbin. The balanced transformer can be used in a driving circuit of a backlight module of an LCD device. The balanced coil set is electrically connected to CCFLs of the backlight module. The detective coil is electrically connected to a protection circuit of the backlight module. When currents respectively passing through the CCFLs are not equal to each other, two ends of the detective coil induct a voltage to form a protection feedback signal transmitted to the protection circuit. Therefore, the balanced transformer is capable of detecting an unusual current, so as to further protect the balanced transformer and the driving circuit of the backlight module.

  • Publication number: 20070139338
Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) driver has the characteristic that using a voltage-switching control circuit to receive the liquid crystal positive voltage and the segment positive voltage generated by the driving voltage generating circuit. The voltage-switching control circuit respectively switches the liquid crystal positive voltage and the liquid crystal negative voltage to input to the common driver in different frame stages such that only one of the liquid crystal positive voltage and the liquid crystal negative voltage exists at the same time. Therefore, for the choice of the semiconductor manufacturing process for the LCD driver, the process with only half of the voltage-resistant can be chosen according to the original design of the circuit, and the supplying for the voltage needed by the segment driver and the common driver is unchanged.

  • Publication number: 20070139118
Abstract: A fast-settling digital automatic gain control circuit comprises first and second gain-controllable amplifiers in series. Each amplifier can be digitally switched between minimum and maximum gains by control logic that receives inputs from a multi-level voltage comparator. A peak detector connected to the output of the first gain-controlled amplifier is used to set the overall operating ranges for several threshold detectors. Four reference voltages are generated from the peak detector. The highest reference voltage is used to clock and reset the gain control logic with a hysteresis comparator to the instantaneous input signal from the first gain-controlled amplifier. The three other lower reference voltages are used to provide three-bits of digital input data to the gain control logic. Two digital controls are output, a min/max gain bit for the first gain-controlled amplifier, and a similar min/max gain bit for the second gain-controlled amplifier.

  • Patent number: 7233722
Abstract: An apparatus and method for displaying large format images, graphics, and videos. The apparatus comprise a layer of column oriented optical fibers, each fiber is illuminated at one end by at least one laser diode, and a second layer which sits in front of the first layer and is parallel to the first layer, whose projected area substantially overlap that of the first layer. The second layer comprises a plurality of optical fibers arranged in rows. In between the first and second layer sits a third layer of optical switching elements. Alternatively, the second layer can be a light diffusing layer. Laser lights emitted from the laser diodes travel in parallel along respective column fiber until they are redirected by optical switching elements which couple the laser lights within the column fibers to the row fibers or to the difflusing layer directly whereby they are scattered by the diffusing elements to reach the viewing audience.
