Publication number: 20240134506Abstract: Systems and processes are disclosed for operating a digital assistant in a media environment. In an exemplary embodiment, a user can interact with a digital assistant of a media device while content is displayed by the media device. In one approach, a plurality of exemplary natural language requests can be displayed in response to detecting a user input of a first input type. The plurality of exemplary natural language requests can be contextually-related to the displayed content. In another approach, a user request can be received in response to detecting a user input of a second input type. A task that at least partially satisfies the user request can be performed. The performed task can depend on the nature of the user request and the content being displayed by the media device. In particular, the user request can be satisfied while reducing disruption to user consumption of media content.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2023Publication date: April 25, 2024Inventors: Lia T. NAPOLITANO, Grace H. HWANG, Henrique D. PENHA, Jeremiah D. SHAW, Jorge S. FINO

Patent number: 11960707Abstract: An electronic device provides, to a display, data to present a user interface that includes a plurality of user interface objects, and a current focus on a first user interface object. While the display is presenting the user interface, the electronic device receives an input that corresponds to a movement of a contact across on a touch-sensitive surface. The electronic device, in response to receiving the input and in accordance with a determination that a first axis is a dominant axis, moves the current focus along the first axis by a first amount and along the second axis by a second amount. The amount of movement of the current focus along the second axis is reduced to a first non-zero amount by a scaling factor that is based on one or more inputs received prior to receiving the input.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2023Date of Patent: April 16, 2024Assignee: APPLE INC.Inventors: Marcos Alonso Ruiz, Nicole M. Wells, Justin T. Voss, Blake R. Seely, Matthew D. Ricketson, Henrique D. Penha, Grace H. Hwang, Graham R. Clarke, Jeffrey L. Robbin, William M. Bachman, Benjamin W. Keighran, Jennifer L. C. Patent number: 11941667Abstract: Embodiments set forth techniques for managing advertisement auctions on a client device. The method can include the steps of (1) receiving, from a server device, a plurality of objects, where each object is associated with a respective digital asset, and each object includes, in association with the respective digital asset (i) a server-derived digital asset vector, (ii) a server-derived predicted tap-through rate, and (iii) a bid amount. In turn, and for each object of the plurality of objects, the client device (2) generates a respective estimated cost per impression for the object based on the information provided by the server device as well as information derived by the client device. Subsequently, the client device (3) identifies, among the plurality of objects, the object associated with the highest respective estimated cost per impression, and (4) causes an advertisement for the respective digital asset associated with the identified object to be displayed.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 2022Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Kanishka Bhaduri, Bernard H. Everson, Jeremy M. Bunyard, Boon C. Hwang

Publication number: 20240098969Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus are provided for an array of vertically stacked memory cells having horizontally oriented access devices and storage nodes formed in tiers. And, more particularly, to multiple, alternating silicon germanium (SiGe) and single crystalline silicon (Si) in different thicknesses to form tiers in which to form the horizontal access devices in vertical three-dimensional (3D) memory. The horizontally oriented access devices can have a first source/drain regions and a second source drain regions separated by single crystalline silicon (Si) channel regions. The single crystalline silicon (Si) channel regions can include a dielectric material to provide support structure to the single crystalline channel regions when forming the horizontal access devices in vertical three-dimensional (3D) memory. Horizontally oriented access lines can connect to gate structures opposing the channel regions. Vertical digit lines coupled to the first source/drain regions.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 15, 2022Publication date: March 21, 2024Inventors: David K. Hwang, Yoshitaka Nakamura, Scott E. Sills, Si-Woo Lee, Yuanzhi Ma, Glen H. Walters

Publication number: 20240098970Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus are provided for an array of vertically stacked memory cells having horizontally oriented access devices and storage nodes. The horizontally oriented access devices having a first source/drain regions and a second source drain regions separated by silicon (Si) channel regions. A digit line having a global digit line (GDL) contact is formed in a trench adjacent to the first source/drain regions. In one example, the digit line is electrically isolated from a neighboring digit line at the bottom of the trench. In another example, the digit line is formed continuously along a bottom surface of trench to form shared digit lines between horizontal access devices, in two separate arrays, on opposing second vertical surfaces. The memory cells have horizontally oriented storage nodes coupled to the second source/drain regions and vertical digit lines coupled to the first source/drain regions.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 16, 2022Publication date: March 21, 2024Inventors: Scott E. Patent number: 11262890Abstract: An electronic device provides, to a display, data to present a user interface that includes a plurality of user interface objects, and a current focus on a first user interface object of the plurality of user interface objects. While the display is presenting the user interface, the electronic device receives from the user input device an input that corresponds to a gesture detected on the touch-sensitive surface of the user input device. The gesture includes a movement of a contact across the touch-sensitive surface followed by a lift-off of the contact from the touch-sensitive surface. The electronic device, in accordance with a determination that the gesture satisfies movement criteria, provides, to the display, data to move the current focus in the user interface from the first user interface object to a second user interface object of the plurality of user interface objects.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 2021Date of Patent: March 1, 2022Assignee: APPLE INC.Inventors: Marcos Alonso Ruiz, Nicole M. Patent number: 10995284Abstract: A process is described for reducing the level of benzene in a refinery gasoline feed containing benzene and at least one C5+ olefin, in which the refinery gasoline feed is contacted with a first alkylation catalyst under conditions effective to react at least part of the C5+ olefin and benzene in the refinery gasoline feed and produce a first alkylation effluent. The first alkylation effluent is separated into at least (i) a first fraction rich in benzene, (ii) a second fraction rich in C7 to C12 hydrocarbons and (iii) a third fraction rich in C13+ hydrocarbons. At least part of the first fraction is contacted with an alkylating agent comprising one or more C2 to C4 olefins in the presence of a second alkylation catalyst under conditions effective to produce a second alkylation effluent which has reduced benzene content as compared with the first fraction.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 2016Date of Patent: May 4, 2021Assignee: BADGER LICENSING LLCInventor: Shyh-Yuan H. Patent number: 10963130Abstract: An electronic device provides, to a display, data to present a user interface that includes a first group of user interface objects and a second group of user interface objects. A current focus is on a first user interface object of the first group of user interface objects. The device receives an input that corresponds to a request to move the current focus to a user interface object in the second group of user interface objects; determines a projection of the first user interface object based on a direction of the input; identifies one or more user interface objects that overlap with the projection of the first user interface object in the direction on the display that corresponds to the direction of the input; and moves the current focus to a second user interface object of the one or more identified user input objects.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2019Date of Patent: March 30, 2021Assignee: APPLE INC.Inventors: Marcos Alonso Ruiz, Nicole M.
