Patent number: 11497275Abstract: The present invention generally relates to methods of printing articles using three-dimensional printing and other printing techniques, and to articles formed from such techniques, including the printing of articles of footwear containing particles. Certain embodiments are generally directed to composites comprising particles (e.g., reinforcing particles), for example, rubber particles. The particles may be used, for example, to increase slip or abrasion resistance. The composites may also contain polyurethanes or other compounds, e.g., to facilitate fabrication, e.g., using three-dimensional printing and other printing techniques. Other embodiments are directed to methods of making or using such articles. For example, in some embodiments, a composite may be prepared by mixing particles (e.g., reinforcing particles) with at least a first fluid and a second fluid within a nozzle, such as a microfluidic printing nozzle, which may be used to direct the resulting product onto a substrate.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2018Date of Patent: November 15, 2022Assignee: Kornit Digital Technologies Ltd.Inventors: Travis Alexander Busbee, Avin Dhoble, Noah Tremblay, Clara H. Rhee, Sean Christopher Troiano

Patent number: 8545704Abstract: Provided is a method for recovering high-concentration and high-purity amine from amine-containing waste water generated from nuclear power plants and thermal power plants. The method includes: capturing amine and concentrating waste water using a cation exchange resin; separating amine from the concentrated amine-containing waste water; and carrying out further separation of amine via distillation. The method may be applied to treat amine, which causes an increase in biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and total nitrogen concentration, drastically at the time of its generation from waste water of nuclear power plants and thermal power plants. In this manner, the method may prevent an increase in load of existing waste water treating plants and avoid a need for modifying the equipment in the existing plants.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2008Date of Patent: October 1, 2013Assignee: Soonchunhyang University Industry Academy Cooperation FoundationInventors: In H. Rhee, Byung G. Park, Hyun J. Jung

Patent number: 5770059Abstract: A waste water treatment apparatus is located between an industrial plant and a municipal sewer to treat and control the flow of waste water from the plant to the sewer. The apparatus includes an equalization basin, a water clarifier mechanism, and a flow rate control mechanism for maintaining a relatively constant water flow rate through the clarifier in spite of major changes in water level in the equalization basin. The flow rate control mechanism includes an upstanding water column and a pump for delivering water from the equalization basin to the column. The column establishes a constant liquid head for controlling water flow through the clarifier.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 1996Date of Patent: June 23, 1998Inventor: Choong H. Rhee

Patent number: 5674389Abstract: A system for removing tetrachloroethylene impurity from water includes two or more adsorption columns in series flow relation. Each column has a upper layer of clay granules and a lower layer of activated charcoal granules. The liquid moves in a downflow direction through each adsorption column.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 1996Date of Patent: October 7, 1997Inventor: Choong H. Rhee
