Chest portions of the seatback cushion extend from front ends of the side portions to surround a chest of the occupant to protect the chest of the occupant. The airbag device includes one or more seatback tethers connected to a seat frame and mounted in the seat. When the seatback cushion is deployed, the seatback tethers are deployed along with the seatback cushion to support the chest in a top-bottom direction thereof, thereby supporting an upper body of the occupant.
