  • Patent number: 10666999
Abstract: Example methods and apparatus for adaptive video transmission based on channel capacity are disclosed. A first wireless display source device for adaptive video transmission based on channel capacity includes a video bit rate determiner, a comparer and a video bit rate setter. The video bit rate determiner is to determine a collective video bit rate based on a current number of wireless display connections in a peer-to-peer (P2P) group multiplied by a current video bit rate of the first wireless display source device. The P2P group includes a second wireless display source device in proximity to the first wireless display source device. The comparer is to compare the collective video bit rate to a wireless display capacity in proximity to the first wireless display source device.

  • Patent number: 10390070
Abstract: A method for adaptive video transmission based on channel capacity. As part of the method, a first wireless display capacity in a proximity of a wireless display source device is determined. The first wireless display capacity is based on information that is received from a wireless channel scan associated with a formation of a (P2P) peer-to-peer group that includes the wireless display source device and a wireless display. Further, the video bit rate of one or more devices with wireless display connections in the proximity is determined, the video bit rate of the one or more devices with wireless display connections in the proximity is compared to the wireless capacity, and, based on the comparing, a video bit rate of the wireless display source device is set. A second wireless display capacity in the proximity of the wireless display source device is determined based on a wireless channel scan of a wireless channel to determine wireless display connections in the proximity.

  • Patent number: 9699464
Abstract: Techniques related to adaptive bitrate streaming for wireless video are discussed. Such techniques may include determining candidate bitrates for encoding segments of a source video. A minimum of the candidate bitrates may be selected and a segment of the source video may be encoded based on the selected encoding bitrate. The encoded bitstream may be transmitted wirelessly from a transmitting device to a receiving device, which may decode the bitstream and present the decoded video to a user.

  • Publication number: 20150178291
Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and computer-readable media related to wireless displays with audio skipping. In some embodiments, a plurality of audio packets may be captured. Each of the plurality of audio packets may be analyzed. Analyzing the packets may include determining whether an audio packet of the plurality of audio packets is silent. In response to determining the audio packet of the plurality of audio packets is not silent, an audio non-skip mode may be entered. In response to determining the audio packet of the plurality of audio packets is silent, a determination may be made as to whether an indicator has exceeded a threshold. The indicator may indicate a sequential number of silent audio packets. In response to the indicator indicating the indicator exceeds the threshold, an audio skip mode may be entered. In response to the indicator indicating the indicator has not exceeded the threshold, the audio non-skip mode may be entered.
