  • Patent number: 11758455
Abstract: Techniques presented herein may provide Distributed Unit (DU) failover techniques for a virtualized Radio Access Network (vRAN) architecture. In one example, a method may include maintaining, by a management node for a vRAN, service information for a plurality of distributed unit components for the vRAN in which the service information identifies, at least in part, service characteristics and failover rules for the vRAN. The method may further include determining a failure of a particular DU component of the plurality of DU components; and reassigning one or more particular RUs currently assigned to the particular DU component to one or more other DU components based on the service characteristics maintained in the service information and particular failover rules identified in the service information that are associated with each of the one or more particular RUs that are re-assigned.

  • Patent number: 11751067
Abstract: The disclosed technology relates to a process of dynamically assigning operational parameters for access points within a CBRS (Citizen Broadband Radio Service) network. In particular, the disclosed technology monitors for and detects interference between nearby access points and user equipment devices that may belong to the same enterprise or to different enterprises. Machine learning processes are used to revise the operational parameters that were initially assigned by the Spectrum Access System (SAS). These processes are also used to suggest an updated set of operational parameters to the SAS for the access points. The dynamic assignment reduces interference experienced by the access point with respect to nearby other access points and/or nearby other user equipment. The dynamic assignment aims to improve a quality of communication between the access point and its associated user equipment.

  • Publication number: 20230236899
Abstract: This disclosure describes dynamically placing workloads using cloud service energy efficiency. The techniques include obtaining energy efficiency metrics (EEMs) that indicate the carbon footprint for different data centers of cloud service providers. In some configurations, an Energy Efficiency Quotient (EEQ) may be generated by an Energy Telemetry Engine (ETE) that indicates the energy efficiency for each data center/Point of Presence (POP) where a workload may be migrated/hosted. The ETE can be used to rank the different host locations (e.g., different data according to their EEQ. In some examples, one or more other metrics (e.g., latency, bandwidth, . . . ) may be used to identify any POPs that do not meet specified conditions (e.g., latency constraints, bandwidth constraints, . . . ). When a suitable host location is determined (e.g. a POP meets both the performance and EEQ specifications), the workload may be placed onto one or more resources of the selected data center.

  • Publication number: 20230198823
Abstract: Adaptive guard interval calibration may be provided. A computing device may receive a first plurality of delay spread values. Each of the first plurality of delay spread values may respectively comprise an amount of time between when each of a respective first plurality Access Points (APs) receives a first tuning symbol from a first calibrating AP and when each of the respective first plurality APs receives a final multipath reflection of the first tuning symbol. Next, a first Guard Interval (GI) may be determined based on the first plurality of delay spread values. The first calibrating AP may then be provisioned with the first GI.

  • Publication number: 20230156548
Abstract: System, methods, and computer-readable media for switching a dynamic radio of a single RU between Radio Access Technology (RAT) protocols based on a Software-Defined RAN intelligent controller (SD-RIC). The SD-RIC efficiently assigning RAN resources by converting a radio access point to either 5G or Wi-Fi based on the load conditions and the number of users seen on the network, so that it appropriately servers the customer and end devices. To determine the load conditions may be based on active users on a particular cell, and then the resource utilization cue is a connection latency. A single radio unit includes a primary radio and a secondary radio, each being independently tuned. The primary radio is static while a secondary one can be influenced based on the conditions, turning into N-RU or Wi-Fi.

  • Publication number: 20230116026
Abstract: Techniques are described herein for pairing disaggregated network elements. In one example, a pairing manager obtains an indication to prioritize high availability when pairing disaggregated network elements. The disaggregated network elements include first disaggregated network elements and second disaggregated network elements. The pairing manager obtains, from one or more of the disaggregated network elements, topology information of the disaggregated network elements. Based on the topology information and the indication to prioritize high availability, the pairing manager pairs topologically-adjacent ones of the first disaggregated network elements with different ones of the second disaggregated network elements.
