  • Patent number: 7266191
Abstract: A comprehensive method for handling telephone calls directed to a telephone number of a terminated user that has been reassigned to a new user. The present invention provides user with a notification service that intercepts telephone calls to said telephone number and notifies callers that the telephone number has been reassigned to the new user. Callers seeking the new user continue calls to user, which results in user only being alerted by continuing callers and not being bothered by callers seeking the terminated user. The user can customize the notification message to inform callers of the details regarding the telephone number reassignment and to whom the telephone number was reassigned. The user can specify a time period for the notification service to be activated. The notification service stores all continuing calls in a log, and bypasses all subsequent calls from telephone numbers listed in the log.

  • Publication number: 20070185883
Abstract: Provided is a system and method for employing a single instantiation of a web form for multiple data requests. A user displays a form that the user would like to submit for multiple data requests. The user executes a form extension utility. The form extension utility either modifies the form to enable the entry of multiple data requests or generates and displays a data entry spreadsheet corresponding to the web form. Once the user has entered the required information, the form extension utility generates multiple queries. The user selects a format for the results and the form extension utility submits the multiple requests to the appropriate server. The server returns results for each submitted request. The form extension utility receives the results transmitted from the server, formats the results according to the user-selected format and displays the results.

  • Publication number: 20060222154
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an apparatus and method for storing a language preference and providing the stored language preference automatically without any intervention of a user. The user may have an option to set a desired language preference on the calling apparatus such as a telephone device. A call center may send a query requesting language preference information of the user to the calling apparatus when the user makes a call connection to the call center. The desired language preference saved on the calling apparatus may be sent directly from the calling apparatus to the call center. In this manner, the user may not have to repeat a language selection process for every call made to the call center.

  • Publication number: 20060106844
Abstract: Provided is a system and method for providing a browser functionality to determine the existence of a table, identify data therein and manipulate the data according to a user's input. Thus, a method for manipulating data tables in a client machine includes determining at the client machine, existence of a table via a loaded graphical user interface operable with a markup language; extracting data from the table; storing the data from the table in a local cache; manipulating the data in the local cache; and displaying the data in a user-defined table by applying a function within the graphical user interface. The manipulating can include sorting the data in the local cache which could include re-sorting the data according to user-defined parameters. The user-defined parameters can include determining a column by which to sort and a row by which to sort. The table on the client computer can be generated by the graphical user interface loading a Web page from a server machine.

  • Publication number: 20060059126
Abstract: The present invention is a method and system for executing whole domain searches based on user queries and producing a result list of root nodes. The method and system comprise searching a network containing a plurality of web sites further containing a plurality of pages by examining all pages of a web site and comparing indexed terms to desired search terms. A result list of domain root nodes is returned wherein not all search terms may appear on a single document or associated page of the root page. Pages containing desired search terms may be indexed and mapped to root nodes for access from a result list.

  • Publication number: 20050163105
Abstract: A method of retrieving information via a network by initiating a phone call by entering a dialing sequence on a telephone to make a telephone connection. If it is determined that the phone call is a request for web-based information, the requested web-based information is determined as well as a network address associated with the phone call. A network protocol request is the generated for the requested web-based information. The network protocol request is then sent to a network server capable of retrieving the information and the retrieved information is delivered to the network address associated with the phone call. Determining that the phone call is a request for web-based information may include detecting a specified sequence that is appended to the phone number. An IP address associated with the telephone may be appended to the phone call either manually or automatically.

  • Publication number: 20050130596
Abstract: Telephone information stored in the wireless communication device is automatically updated when a dialed telephone number has changed. Upon receiving an error code in response to making a call, the cell phone automatically determines if the error code indicates that the dialed telephone number has changed to a new telephone number. If so, the cell phone automatically determines the new telephone number from the error code and automatically updates a phone book contained within the cell phone with the new telephone number.

  • Publication number: 20050124357
Abstract: A comprehensive method for transmitting address information to a global positioning system (GPS) from a personal digital assistant (PDA) display device or other similar device that stores address information, such as a cellular phone address book, or a laptop computer address book, via a connector. The connector can be Bluetooth, infrared, cable, or some other connector. This transmission of address information is much quicker than the current art of manually entering address information into the GPS, or transferring the address information from a DVD, and the errors associated with the current art of entering in such information are not present when the address information is transmitted via a connector.

  • Publication number: 20050108351
Abstract: Methods, systems, and media for employing private email content in an email message are disclosed. Embodiments include hardware and/or software for identifying an instance of private content in an email message, associating the instance with a recipient, and generating emails for each recipient, wherein the emails are redacted to display the email message with the instance when routed to a recipient associated with the instance and to exclude the instance when routed to a recipient that is not associated with the instance. Private content may include text in the body of an email that is identified by the user as being content for less than all of the recipients. In particular, a user may compose a message that contains text, some of which includes private content, and address the email to multiple recipients. The user may then associate one or more of the recipients with each separately identified instance of the private content so that recipients see the text that the user intends them to see.
