  • Publication number: 20060018226
Abstract: A condition of a recording pulse comprising a top pulse and a following pulse is determined in a predetermined order. In some embodiments, an mT pulse condition is first determined by test recordings with various power and pulse conditions, involving an inspection of recording quality; then an m?T/(n?m)T ratio is determined by test recording under the mT pulse condition fixed; and finally an nT pulse is configured based on the ratio. A phase shift can be corrected by test recording with the nT pulse.

  • Publication number: 20050265183
Abstract: There is provided an effective inspection technique of recording quality decided by a combination of a drive and a media. A standard media as a quality standard for various media is recorded and reproduced for each drive, thresholds obtained by multiplying a characteristic value obtained as a result of the record reproduction by a preset factor are stored in a storage area within each drive. When a record of information in a record object media is performed, the record object media is recorded and reproduced using a plurality of recording conditions accompanied with change of a power or a pulse width, an approximation curve is obtained from a plurality of characteristic values obtained as a result of the record reproduction, and the recording quality inspection of the media is performed based on the amount of margin obtained according to a positional relationship between the approximation curve and the threshold.

  • Publication number: 20050265184
Abstract: An optical information recording apparatus is suitable for detection of deviation between a strategy and a record pattern. Test record is performed on an optical recordable medium using a predetermined strategy. A binarization signal that is obtained by reproducing the test record result is counted. A pit length and a land length included in the binarization signal are specified using a histogram of the count result. A plurality of the reproduction patterns is searched and extracted from a record area based at least in part on the pit length and the land length. Deviation between a strategy and a record pattern formed by the test record is detected through comparison of the obtained reproduction patterns through the search.

  • Patent number: 6719933
Abstract: A method of making a spherical seamless capsule formed by encapsulating a filler material such as a medicine with a capsule shell material shell such as gelatin. A liquid capsule shell material is stored in a tank at a low temperature, and supplied to a concentric multiple nozzle while it temperature is raised to a predetermined temperature upon being gradually heated while being transferred to the concentric multiple nozzle. This prevents deterioration in the capsule shell material and excessive decrease in its viscosity. When the liquid filler material and the capsule shell material flow out of the concentric multiple nozzle, their flows are cut by imparting a vibration thereto, to form a droplet in which the filler material and the capsule shell material are disposed at the center and on the outside, respectively. Such droplets are dropped into a curing liquid while in a dispersed state to cure the surface of the capsule shell material.

A liquid capsule shell material is stored in a tank at a low temperature, and is supplied to a concentric multiple nozzle while in a state where its temperature is raised to a predetermined temperature upon being gradually heated in the process of being transferred to the concentric multiple nozzle. This prevents the deterioration in the capsule shell material and the excessive decrease in its viscosity from occurring. When the liquid filler material and capsule shell material are caused to flow out of the concentric multiple nozzle, their flows are cut by imparting a vibration thereto, so as to form a droplet in which the filler material and the capsule shell material are disposed at the center and on the outside, respectively.
