Publication number: 20100328294Abstract: An image display apparatus comprises a pixel having a drive transistor and a pixel display element which are connected in series between a first power line and a second power line, a holding capacitor connected to a gate electrode of the drive transistor, and a selection transistor connected between a signal line and the gate electrode of the drive transistor. When the selection transistor is turned on, gradation pixel data is written in the holding capacitor from the signal line. The charge of gradation pixel data written in the holding capacitor is discharged for a certain period through the drive transistor, thereafter the charge of the gradation pixel data stored in the holding capacitor is held by floating the gate electrode of the drive transistor.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 7, 2010Publication date: December 30, 2010Inventors: Isao Sasaki, Koichi Iguchi

Publication number: 20100229658Abstract: The present invention is directed to devices and methods in which one or more miniature synthetic jet actuators are integrated with a chemical fluidic sensor (ChemFET) to effect inhalation and exhalation of ambient gas samples and induce small scale mixing at the surface of the sensor. The fluidically integrated jet transports ambient gas or liquid into the jet/sensor assembly through integrated gas or liquid channels, impinges the sample gas or liquid on the sensing element, and finally ejects the sample gas or liquid back into the ambient gas or liquid. The response of the sensor in the presence of the active jet is compared to its response when the jet is inactive. The jet actuator directs entrained ambient gas or liquid toward the active surface of the sensor, and the impingement of sample gas or liquid onto the surface of the sensor results in faster response time. Other embodiments are also claimed and described.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 13, 2007Publication date: September 16, 2010Applicant: GEORGIA TECH RESEARCH CORPORATIONInventors: Ari Glezer, Isao Sasaki, Jiri Janata

Publication number: 20090226151Abstract: The recording operation can be rapidly started and a notification about the operating state during the recording operation can be realized without adding a new component, whereby a target scene of a subject can be recorded reliably. When a video signal captured by a camera unit 10 is compressed and encoded and is recorded on a DV tape, a control unit 100 controls a compression/decompression unit 40 and a tape deck unit 60 to compress and encode the video signal and record as DV data without using compressed data already recorded on the DV tape. In other words, the control unit 100 controls the operation of compressing and encoding video data to be newly recorded in such a manner that compressed data already recorded on the DV tape is not read out, thus reducing the time until recording of the video data on the DV tape is started.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 24, 2005Publication date: September 10, 2009Inventors: Hisashi Ohashi, Isao Sasaki, Takao Ohsawa

Publication number: 20090225179Abstract: Multiple capture assist marks (markers for capture assistance) to be synthesized with video captured by a camera unit 10 is generated by an OSD unit 20 through the control of a control unit 100. These capture assist marks are synthesized with the video from the camera unit 10 by synthesis means and displayed. In this case, an operation unit 110 is used to accept input of an instruction about the capture assist mark from a user. Based on this instruction input, the control unit 100 controls the OSD unit 20 and a baseband processing unit 30 to synthesize the capture assist mark corresponding to the instruction with a video signal from the camera unit 10.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 6, 2005Publication date: September 10, 2009Inventors: Hisashi Ohashi, Kuniaki Sakai, Isao Sasaki
