  • Patent number: 5627941
Abstract: The number of hidden layers is no larger than 2 and a sum is determined for each case. A relationship between the sum of the inputs and teaching data for each case is expressed in a table in a descending order of the sum of inputs for each output of an output layer, and the teacher data for the maximum sum and the number of times of change in the teacher data are considered. A configuration (the number of hidden layers and the number of neurons thereof) is determined based on those data, and the coupling weights can be analytically calculated by using the table. Where the number of times of change of the teacher data is odd, some inputs do not route a second hidden layer.

  • Patent number: 5598509
Abstract: In a recognition/diagnosis method, a relation between total sums of inputs of respective cases and teacher data is listed in the order of magnitude of the total sums of inputs. Based on the value of the teacher data for the input having the maximum total sum and the number of times of change of teacher data in the table are considered, a configuration of a neural network (the number of hidden layers and the number of neurons thereof) is determined. Coupling weights are analytically calculated based on the table.

  • Patent number: 5506766
Abstract: Each of the primary coils in the three transformers is assigned to one phase of the 3-phase input. A plurality of input diodes, with the primary coils, constitutes a 3-phase full wave rectifying circuit, which in turn consists of two Y- connection circuits. The main circuit of a switching element is connected between the common connecting points of the Y-connection circuits. An output rectifying circuit is connected to each of the secondary coils in the transformers to rectify, smooth and output the voltage generated on the secondary side due to the flyback effect. By using one main switching element, the input current waveform can be maintained as a sine wave, and variable adjustment of the output voltage can be performed, achieving a reduction in the capacity of the output side capacitor.

  • Patent number: 5153518
Abstract: The invention relates to a synthetic equivalent test circuit which can generate a 4-parameter transient recovery voltage TRV, for verifying a large current breaking performance of a power circuit breaker. A current source current is supplied to only a testing circuit breaker which is to be tested and an auxiliary circuit breaker. A small current with respect to the current source current is transmitted to the first and second auxiliary switches from a power source. When the small current form the current source or the resonance circuit flows, the first auxiliary switch is opened almost simultaneously with the auxiliary circuit breaker, the testing circuit breaker and operates so as to break the current at the time point of the final zero point of the current source current.

  • Patent number: 4962976
Abstract: A polyphase induction motor is driven from an inverter having a set of switches activated in prescribed on-off patterns to provide forward and reverse voltage vectors and a zero vector for controllably energizing the motor. Memories are provided on which there are written forward voltage vector data for forwardly energizing the motor, reverse voltage vector data for reversely energizing the motor, and zero vector data for de-energizing the motor. The voltage vector data and zero vector data are selectively read out from the memories in order to cause the inverter to generate in real time the corresponding voltage vectors and zero vectors needed for the motor to be quickly revolved to, and set out of rotation exactly in, a desired angular position. For such optimum motor speed control an ideal control curve is predefined which represents the ideal relationship between the motor speed and the difference between the actual and the desired angular position of the motor.

  • Patent number: 4946528
Abstract: An improved method for producing a protective-coated steel pipe in a construction work site by spirally winding and melt-bonding a belt-like thermoplastic synthetic resin sheet around the outer peripheral surface of a steel pipe, for use as a construction member in corrosive circumstances, the method provides a winding step winding the sheet around the outer peripheral surface of the steel pipe while contacting adjacent side end faces of the sheet in a face-to-face relation to each other and a bonding step of heat melt-bonding the adjacent sheet portions to each other in the contacted state of the respective side end faces while pressing both sheet portions together by a pressing means when they begin to melt. Also disclosed is an equipment used for practicing the said method. According to these method and equipment, the resin of the sheet comes into completely close contact with the steel pipe so the corrosion resistance of the pipe is improved remarkably.

  • Patent number: 4933831
Abstract: An inverter power supply with improved power factor comprises a source of low frequency AC voltage and an inverter having a pair of series connected first and second transistors controlled to alternately turn on and off at a high frequency for providing a high frequency AC voltage to a load. A diode-bridge full-wave rectifier is connected to provide a DC voltage which is charged to at least one capacitor which in turn provides a DC voltage input to the inverter. An inductor, which counteracts the capative reactance of the capacitor for improving the power factor, is inserted in series with the AC voltage source across the input of the diode-bridge rectifier. The first and second transistors of the inverter also operate to interrupt or chop at the high frequency a current fed through the inductor from the AC voltage source so as to charge the capacitor through the rectifier by the inductor.
