  • Publication number: 20140056250
Abstract: Mechanisms for enabling distributed access control are disclosed. At least one communication channel is selected for wireless communication by a device by a selection procedure where interference impact of at least one communication channel on at least one interfered node is determined, an overall interference effect is formed, and a set of feasible communication channels is selected based on comparison of the overall interference effect to communication channel capacity. At least one communication channel can be selected from the selected set of feasible communication channels based on transmission collision information, a ratio of capacity of interfered transmissions and capacity of interference-free transmissions, usage history of the feasible communication channels, and fairness of communication channel selection. Information can be communicated to at least one device from a plurality of access nodes.

  • Publication number: 20140016588
Abstract: A method including determining for a candidate component carrier for a cell if a gain obtained by said cell is better than a loss of a neighbouring cell using said candidate component carrier; and if so, allocating said candidate component carrier to said cell.

  • Publication number: 20130182690
Abstract: The invention relates generally to mobile communication networks. More particularly, the invention relates to interference management and carrier selection for transmitting data. There is provided a solution for improved selection of a cell-specific base carrier, the solution utilizing a timing framework for the carrier selection. The solution includes determining a maximum allowed time duration, and performing within the determined maximum allowed time duration: obtaining information related to one or more selected carriers from at least one neighboring base station, selecting the at least one cell-specific base carrier for data transmission on the basis of the obtained information, and informing the at least one neighboring base station of the selected cell specific base carrier.

  • Publication number: 20130003580
Abstract: There is proposed a mechanism by means of which information can be generated and used for estimating and identifying at each base transceiver station of a communication network the set of other base transceiver stations generating interference on certain monitored component carriers used by the base transceiver station, i.e. information for the generation of the incoming uplink background interference matrix. For this purpose, a specific communication information set, referred to as uplink radio load map, is determined which informs about an average (time/frequency) and aggregated (over all or group of served UEs) uplink load measure per component carrier. Based on the uplink radio load map received via suitable signaling from other base transceiver stations, each base transceiver station can determine the incoming uplink background interference matrix and initiate, if necessary, suitable measures for reducing interference per component carrier.

  • Publication number: 20120329502
Abstract: There is provided an improved solution for generating and compressing uplink channel feedback information in a communication system. The solution includes determining, at a user terminal, information related to a condition of at least one channel between the user terminal and at least one communication point of a cooperative multi-point transmission network, and generating feedback information including, for each reporting sub-band, a channel condition of a predetermined resource block and at least one differential channel condition of at least one other resource block within the same reporting sub-band. The generated feedback information may be communicated to a control node of the co-operative multipoint communication network.

  • Publication number: 20110053601
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and apparatuses for controlling cell configuration in a cellular network, wherein a cell identity and a local cell spectrum resource entity or profile are assigned to an access device in response to a result of sensing a local radio environment at said access device to detect possible neighbor cells. The assigned local cell spectrum resource entity or profile is used to allocate cell spectrum resource from a shared multi-operator spectrum to said access device.
