  • Patent number: 6252345
Abstract: A display panel includes a resin lens layer. The display panel consists of a front panel 10 and a back panel 12 which are hermetically sealed together. The display panel also includes a plurality of display cells and is filled with a gas. A visible-light transparent resin is coated over the front surface of the front panel 10. The resin layer is raise-molded with a molding tool 16 while being solidified. Through this molding process, a resin lens layer 14 with plural lenses is formed on the front surface of the front panel 10. The resin lens layer 14 formed on the front surface of the front panel 10 can improve the brightness of the display cells.

  • Patent number: 6252658
Abstract: A particle size distribution measuring apparatus includes a source of laser light for providing a laser beam to a sample cell that can hold a sample to be measured. A condenser lens converges the laser beam towards the sample cell along an optical axis. The position on the other side of the sample cell is a ring detector unit that can be aligned with the optical axis to measure light intensity at relatively small scattering angles from contact with particles in the sample cell. An array of detectors can be operatively positioned on a substrate with appropriate amplifying multiplying and analog to digital conversion capacity for measuring light intensity at relatively large scatter angles. The outputs of the ring detector unit and the array of detectors can be used to determine the particle size distribution of particles in the sample.

  • Publication number: 20010004419
Abstract: A data-imprinting apparatus for preventing the imprinting of incorrect dates in a lens-equipped film unit that lacks a monitor display unit for the confirmation of the date display. The lens-equipped film unit 1 contains a built-in data module 27 that lacks an external display unit that allows the confirmation of the date display from the outside. The data module 27 contains a transmission-type liquid crystal display unit 45 that automatically updates and displays dates based upon a pre-stored calendar. In the liquid crystal display unit 45, external light enters from the light collection window 15 on the front cover 12, thus creating a beam of data light. The data light, acting in concert with the shutter release operation, is guided into a dark box. The image-forming optical system that is provided in the dark box forms an image of the data light on a part of the photographic film.
