  • Patent number: 5197048
Abstract: A magneto-optic recording medium has a cartridge provided with a magnetization direction indicating portion for indicating the direction of magnetization of a second magnetic layer. Alternatively, the direction of magnetization of the second magnetic layer is recorded in advance in the first magnetic layer. The direction of magnetization of the second magnetic layer indicated or recorded is detected and recognized. A magnetic field oriented in an opposite direction to the direction of magnetization detected is imparted to the magneto-optic recording medium. Alternatively, predetermined information is recorded in the first magnetic layer, the direction of magnetization of the second magnetic layer is detected on the basis of a signal reproducing that information, and the direction of a magnetic field to be applied to the magneto-optic recording medium is set on the basis of the direction of magnetization thus detected.

  • Patent number: 5196790
Abstract: A revolution counts detection apparatus comprises a detector for detecting the induced voltage of an electric motor, a capacitor for storing charges, and a charging means for charging the capacitor on the basis of the detected induced voltage. Further, a generator for generating a voltage corresponding to the revolution velocity of a revolving body can be used instead of the electric motor. Whereby, the revolution counts of the motor or the generator can be detected as a voltage across the capacitor.

  • Patent number: 5196692
Abstract: A photoelectric transducer having a photocell includes a compound semiconductor substrate in which a photodiode is doped by an impurity of a conductivity type opposite to that of the substrate. An enclosure region is formed by the same doping impurity as the photodiode, surrounding but spaced apart from the photodiode. A gate electrode is formed on a portion of an insulation layer, the latter formed all over the substrate surface, which extends between the photodiode and the enclosure region. The enclosure region is selectively connected, via a contact hole through the insulation layer and a first switch to ground level. The gate electrode is connected via a second switch to a predetermined voltage having the same polarity as the conductivity type of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 5195814
Abstract: A strobe unit in which a reflecting mirror is located behind a light source. The strobe unit includes an imaginary semielliptical reflecting mirror having a major axis located on an axis of illumination that passes through the center of the light source. Imaginary quarter-elliptical reflecting mirrors are formed by splitting the imaginary semi-elliptical reflecting mirror along the major axis into two mirror elements which are spaced a predetermined distance from one another in a direction perpendicular to the major axis. The reflecting mirror is defined by modified quarter-elliptical reflecting mirrors which are symmetrical in shape with respect to the axis of illumination and have a continuous smooth reflecting surface that extends between open ends of the imaginary quarter-elliptical reflecting mirrors, and ends which are adjacent to the light source and located between the imaginary semi-elliptical reflecting mirror and quarter-elliptical reflecting mirrors.

  • Patent number: 5194104
Abstract: A core assembly for a pneumatic tire, which is fitted annularly to an outer peripheral surface of a well portion of a rim, and which rotates should the pneumatic tire collapse owing to a decline in its internal pressure, as an outer surface of the core assembly comes into contact with an inner peripheral surface of a crown portion of the pneumatic tire and an inner peripheral surface of the core assembly slides over the outer peripheral surface of the well portion of the rim. The core assembly includes a sliding portion formed of a resin material having good sliding properties and high heat resistance, and a main body to which the sliding member is secured and which is formed of a material having a high rigidity and a low specific gravity. Accordingly, since the surface of the core assembly contacting the rim is constituted by the sliding member, the core assembly is rotated smoothly when the internal pressure of the pneumatic tire declines, and the overal weight of the core assembly is reduced.
