Abstract: A method for determining a password strength is provided. The method may include receiving a user-entered password. The method may also include identifying a keyboard layout type associated with a keyboard utilized to enter the received user-entered password. The method may further include mapping each character within a plurality of characters in the received user-entered password to a corresponding location on a grid associated with the identified keyboard layout type. The method may also include determining a coordinate sequence associated with the received user-entered password based on the mapped plurality of characters. The method may further include applying a pattern recognition algorithm to the determined coordinate sequence. The method may also include determining a password strength based on the applied pattern recognition algorithm.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes identifying one or more recognition signals from a live video stream of an assembly of people, wherein each recognition signal indicates a request by one or more members of the assembly of people to speak and is identified based, at least in part, on a cognitive system. The computer-implemented method further includes entering each of the one or more members into a recognition queue based on a priority level assigned to each of the one or more members. The computer-implemented method further includes detecting at least a first voice command. The computer-implemented method further includes, responsive to detecting at least the first voice command: Releasing a first member from the recognition queue; Delivering a microphone, via an autonomous vehicle, to the first member; and activating the microphone within a threshold distance of the first member. In response to determining that the electronic document contains one or more repetitive text associations, the method further includes identifying one or more repetitive text segments in the electronic document corresponding to the one or more repetitive text associations and determining a time duration expended by the user reading an instance of the identified one or more repetitive text segments within the electronic document.

Abstract: A coding scheme for coding “code constructs” (for example, alphanumeric characters) into “bit sequences,” where at least one of the code constructs is assigned at least two different bit sequences (that is, a first bit sequence and a second bit sequence). This is sometimes referred to herein as “alternative codings for a single code construct.” In some embodiments, at least one of the alternative codings includes bits that can be used for error detection and/or correction. In some embodiments, the code scheme will be similar to a pre-existing code scheme that does not have alternative codings for a single code construct so that the alternative-codings coding scheme is back compatible with data encoded under the pre-existing coding scheme.

Abstract: For adding cooperative file coloring protocols in a data deduplication system using a processor device in a computing environment, a preferred character is represented for file coloring in a file using a code selected from a multiplicity of codes that represent a variety of contexts. The original meaning of the preferred character is retained when representing the preferred character for the file coloring by the code selected from the multiplicity of codes. The file is deduplicated by the data deduplication system according to the file coloring that represents a source file of a backup application.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for determining performance shortfall in a storage system includes recording a log of I/O operations of a storage system, wherein each I/O operation includes associated operational parameters. The method prepares the storage system to perform a replay of a performance shortfall that occurred during a specified time frame. The method performs the replay on the storage system based at least on the log of I/O operations and the I/O operations' associated operational parameters for the specified time frame.
