    Abstract: The described embodiments relate generally to computing devices including liquid crystal displays (LCDs) and more particularly to methods for attaching a cover glass layer to a structural housing while minimizing an amount of stress transferred through the cover glass layer to the LCD module. A continuous and compliant foam adhesive can be used to bond the cover glass layer to a structural. The compliant bond can absorb and distribute local stress concentrations caused by structural loads, mismatched surfaces and differing thermal expansion rates between various structures and cover glass layer. This can reduce stress concentrations in the cover glass layer that can lead to stress induced birefringence in the LCD cell. In other embodiments, the cover glass layer can be attached using magnets or a tongue and groove design.

    Abstract: Disclosed embodiments determine, at an early stage, suitability of an intraoperative image for further intraoperative surgical analysis. The determination of suitability may be made using a first angle (such as a first obturator angle) based on at least three pelvic feature points in a preoperative image, a corresponding second angle (such as a corresponding second obturator angle) based on at least three corresponding pelvic feature points in an intraoperative image, and by comparing the first angle and the corresponding second angle to determine intraoperative image suitability. The first intra-operative image is indicated as suitable for further intraoperative analysis when an absolute value of a difference between the first angle and the corresponding second angle does not exceed a threshold. When the intraoperative image is determined as unsuitable for further intraoperative analysis, an indication of a movement direction for a fluoroscopy camera used to capture the intraoperative image is provided.

    Abstract: Some embodiments provide a navigation application with a novel declutter navigation mode. In some embodiments, the navigation application has a declutter control that when selected, directs the navigation application to simplify a navigation presentation by removing or de-emphasizing non-essential items that are displayed in the navigation presentation. In some embodiments, the declutter control is a mode-selecting control that allows the navigation presentation to toggle between normal first navigation presentation and a simplified second navigation presentation, which below is also referred to as a decluttered navigation presentation. During normal mode operation, the navigation presentation of some embodiments provides (1) a representation of the navigated route, (2) representations of the roads along the navigated route, (3) representation of major and minor roads that intersect or are near the navigated route, and (4) representations of buildings and other objects in the navigated scene.

Some embodiments include digitally registering a portion of the exposed femoral implant to create a representative point set. The system then digitally overlays a medical image of the implant and/or a 3-dimensional model of the femoral implant. Some embodiments further include a surgical tracking system configured to track a surgical cutting tool. Moreover, the system visually illustrates the cutting path of the surgical tool to convey to the surgeon where the surgeon has already cut and where the surgeon needs to cut in order to fully detach the femoral implant from the bone.

    Abstract: Cerebrovascular treatment at an intracranial location beyond the petrous segment of the carotid artery can be challenging due to blood vessel size and tortuosity. First pass cerebrovascular thrombectomy success rate under only fluoroscopic guidance can be low (e.g., 25.1%) but an angioscope can help improve efficacy. A sheath catheter can be advanced toward the cerebrovascular pathology. Its distal balloon can be inflated. An angioscope can be inserted via its working lumen for viewing. The sheath catheter can have a stepped-down lateral profile and can extend the working channel a distance beyond the balloon. A dual concentric lumen structure can include an inner body and an outer body, defining an inflation lumen therebetween, with one or more portions of one or more layers stretched or cut or both, such as to provide bending flexibility. Reflow techniques can be used to help bond layers together.

    Abstract: An electronic device may be provided with antennas for receiving signals in first and second ultra-wideband communications bands. The antennas may include a resonating element formed from conductive traces on a dielectric substrate. The substrate may be mounted to an underlying flexible printed circuit. A fence of conductive vias may extend from the resonating element, through the substrate and the flexible printed circuit, to a ground plane on the flexible printed circuit. The fence may form a return path for the antenna. A shielding ring may be formed on the substrate. Additional fences of vias may couple the shielding ring to the ground plane. If desired, the resonating element may include a patch that is not shorted to the ground plane. The fences of vias, the conductive traces, and the ground plane may form a continuous antenna cavity for the resonating element.

The third ultra-wideband antenna may be laterally interposed between the first phased antenna array and at least some of the second array. An integrated circuit may be mounted to the dielectric substrate using an interposer. The antenna module may occupy a minimal amount of space within the device and may be less expensive to manufacture relative to scenarios where the arrays and the ultra-wideband antennas are formed on separate substrates.

In one embodiment, the plastic fastener includes an inner plastic core constructed using at least one flexible plastic material and an adhesive-based outer coating constructed using at least one of a pressure-sensitive adhesive and a heat-activatable adhesive. In another embodiment, the plastic fastener is constructed using a mixture of at least one flexible plastic material and at least one adhesive material. In lieu of incorporating an adhesive material into the plastic fastener, a novel item coupling process achieves fastener tackiness by applying heat onto the plastic fastener either prior to, during, or after being dispensed into the desired items.
