  • Patent number: 10528357
Abstract: A method and system for identifying a data recorder based upon a unique signature generated for the data recorder. Configuration information is received, the information specifying a plurality of data recording input parameters which are selected to facilitate use of the data recorder in a particular data recording application. A unique signature is generated according for the data recorder, the unique signature including a code which uniquely identifies the data recorder based on a transformation of the configuration information. The unique signature is stored for subsequent access or reference. To differentiate between similar makes and models of data recorders, at least a portion of the unique signature includes a unique core part number that is assigned to only one data recorder by, for example, the manufacturer of the data recorder.

  • Publication number: 20190310121
Abstract: A method of determining optimal resistance and compensating for temperature variations in determining a test tone is presented. The optimal resistance in a drive circuit amplifier and drive coil and using the optimal resistance to improve the accuracy of a test tone used in the calibration of a flow meter is presented. The optimal resistance is calculated using a linear extrapolation of the resistance change of the circuit with respect to temperature. The optimal resistance is then used to calculate the proper maximum sensor current (MSC) value using an equation derived from Ohm's law, and from the MSC a test tone level is calculated.

  • Publication number: 20190001270
Abstract: An exhaust aftertreatment system includes a diesel oxidation catalyst in exhaust gas receiving communication with an engine. A selective catalytic reduction catalyst on filter (SCR on filter) is positioned downstream of the diesel oxidation catalyst. A hydrocarbon doser is configured to inject hydrocarbons into a flow of the exhaust gas upstream of the diesel oxidation catalyst. A reductant doser is configured to inject reductant into the flow of the exhaust gas upstream of the SCR on filter and downstream of the diesel oxidation catalyst. An aftertreatment controller is operatively coupled to the hydrocarbon doser. The aftertreatment controller is configured to control a dosing rate at which the hydrocarbon doser injects hydrocarbons into the flow of the exhaust gas so as to cause regeneration of the SCR on filter.

  • Patent number: 10161284
Abstract: A system for and method of diagnosing operation of a partial filtration filter exhaust aftertreatment system are provided. An upstream exhaust temperature value is determined in an exhaust system upstream of at least one of a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) component and a first partial flow filter (PFF) component. A downstream exhaust temperature value is determined in the exhaust system downstream of a second PFF component positioned downstream of the at least one of the DOC component and the first PFF component. A frequency difference is determined between a first frequency content of the upstream exhaust temperature value and a second frequency content of the downstream exhaust temperature value. If the frequency is less than a predetermined threshold, it is determined that at least one of the DOC component and the PFF component are not present in the exhaust system.
