  • Patent number: 9846890
Abstract: In at least one embodiment, a profile/content system generates, accesses, and/or serves a compilation profile for targeting content to identifiable communication devices (“ICDs”). The compilation profile can include data associated with a user of an ICD, and the profile/content system obtains the data from multiple data sources. The data sources can include a particular ICD and can also include particular applications running on the ICD and other data sources such as web sites and data aggregators that store data associated with the IDC user. The profile/content system can operate in a variety of modes depending upon a type of request received by the profile/content system. Exemplary modes are: (1) a direct content provision mode, (2) an indirect content provision mode, and (3) a compilation profile provision mode. In at least one embodiment, in the direct content provision mode, the profile/content system receives a request for content directly via an ICD.

  • Publication number: 20170301044
Abstract: Systems, methods, and other embodiments are disclosed for managing utility usage data in the event of a utility outage. In one embodiment, measured meter data is read representing utility usage data collected from multiple meters within a zone of a utility system and processed to identify valid and invalid usage data of the measured meter data. An estimation process is performed on the measured meter data to generate corrected meter data for the multiple meters. The corrected meter data is aggregated over a time span to generate an aggregate percentage value specifying a total percentage of data received for the time span. The aggregate percentage value is compared to a threshold value to detect a utility outage. The estimation process is suppressed for the multiple meters when the aggregate percentage value is below the threshold value, indicating a utility outage.

  • Publication number: 20170285079
Abstract: Systems, methods, and other embodiments are disclosed for validating measured meter data. In one embodiment, a graphical user interface is provided that facilitates configuration of a validation algorithm by a user. Historical usage data is accessed during a non-peak time to offload processing from a peak time. The non-peak time corresponds to a time span when the measured meter data is not being received and validated, and the peak time corresponds to a different time span when the measured meter data is being received and validated. Statistical data is generated from the historical usage data during the non-peak time and stored in a memory. The measured meter data is received and the statistical data is accessed during the peak time. The measured meter data is validated by applying the validation algorithm to the statistical data and the measured meter data during the peak time.

  • Publication number: 20170219461
Abstract: A “store on alert” vibration data acquisition mechanism uses scalar data produced by a vibration monitoring device as a predicate to capturing and storing analytical vibration data in the vibration monitoring device. The scalar data may consist of scalar process variables generated in the vibration monitoring device that are acquired at a fixed interval, such as PeakVue and Overall Vibration. At each interval, these scalar data values are compared to machine performance threshold levels, such as ADVISE, MAINT and FAIL, to determine whether analytical vibration data is to be stored separately inside the vibration monitoring device. Since the analytical vibration data is captured based on a predicate inside the vibration monitoring device (i.e., comparison of the scalar value to the thresholds), the analytical vibration data includes more relevant diagnostic information about a specific machine performance event.

  • Patent number: 9664652
Abstract: As described herein, a system for inspecting a component includes an ultrasonic inspection probe with a component surface interface, and a robotic device with an end effector coupled to the ultrasonic inspection probe. The robotic device is automatably controllable to move the ultrasonic inspection probe across a surface of the component. Additionally, the system includes an angle sensor subsystem coupled between the ultrasonic inspection probe and the end effector. The angle sensor subsystem is configured to operably detect an actual orientation of the end effector relative to a presently inspected portion of the surface of the component. The system includes a controller configured to receive orientation data from the angle sensor subsystem, the orientation data comprising the actual orientation of the end effector, compare the actual orientation to a desired orientation, and control the robotic device to adjust an orientation of the end effector to be in the desired orientation.

  • Publication number: 20170131892
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for controlling the appearance of application windows on a computer display screen. A user identifies either an application window currently running on the computer or a new application to be started. The user also identifies a size, shape, and screen location by inputting a geometric shape, such as by drawing a rectangle with a pen or stylus input device, on the display screen. The appearance of the application window is set based on the geometric shape. The application window is resized and moved, for a currently running application, or created, for a new application, on the display screen.
