  • Publication number: 20130301044
Abstract: The invention relates to a device (100) for identifying biotic particles in a medium to be analyzed, comprising a measuring cell (104), through which the medium to be analyzed can flow and in which the identification of the biotic particles is carried out by means of Raman spectroscopy, and a feed (102) by means of which the medium to be analyzed can be fed to the measuring cell (104). The device (100) according to the invention is characterized in that the feed (102) comprises at least one sensor (101) with which the presence of biotic particles in the medium flowing through the feed (102) can be ascertained. The feed (102) has a controllable bypass valve (103) downstream of the sensor (101), and the medium can be selectively fed to the measuring cell (104) or to a bypass channel (106) via said bypass valve.

  • Publication number: 20110165558
Abstract: Individual viruses in any type of sample are identified quickly, unambiguously and reliably, and with the least possible preparation-related and technology-related expenditure, without necessitating immobilization using antibodies and without requiring an indication or at least a suspicion of potentially present viruses. This is accomplished by scanning the height profile of the sample, from which scanning sites suspected of containing viruses are selected, exposing those cites to monochromatic excitation light and spectroscopically analyzing the resulting Raman scattered light.

  • Publication number: 20080306346
Abstract: A method in which the cleavage profile and size distribution of von Willebrand factor (VWF) multimers is analyzed, includes: providing a sample medium of human body fluids comprising a plurality of VWF multimers of different size; enrichment or purification of the VWF multimers by cryoprecipitation or chromatography to obtain a separated preparation of the VWF multimers from said sample medium; exposing the separated preparation of VWF multimers to a light source to produce signals obtained by vibrational spectroscopy; detecting said signals; transformation by mathematical alogrithms; generation of patterns based on computing of data of original resonance spectra and determining the cleavage profile and the size distribution of said separated VWF multimers by chemometrics; and acquisition of a databank obtained from healthy individuals for identifying subjects at risk of developing at least one of the following diseases: sepsis, coagulopathy, thrombotic disease, infection, and inflammation.

  • Patent number: 6841604
Abstract: A polyester with a carbon black content of up to 20% by weight, based on the polyester, is condensed, after transesterification of DMT with diol, or after esterification of terephthalic acid with diol, with the aid of a titanium-based catalyst. The carbon black is added in the form of a carbon black dispersion together with the polycondensation catalyst to the transesterification product or esterification product. The carbon black dispersion comprises gas black or furnace black and a dispersing agent, and these are dispersed in diol. The diameter of the carbon black particles is below that of carbon black particles in a polyester using an antimony compound as catalyst.

  • Patent number: 6409480
Abstract: A drive unit for hydraulic consumers for individual structural component parts of a machine for producing shaped articles from molding materials, including a motor, a pump driven by the motor, and a carrying part configured to connect at least one of the pump and the motor to the machine. The carrying part has a pipe-shaped area which is closed at both ends by at least one of a bottom and a cover. At least the pump projects into the carrying part and is enclosed by the carrying part. The pump is attached to the carrying part on a side facing away from the motor. A portion of the carrying part is constructed as a connection block.
