Abstract: The present subject mater relates to configuring computer systems and, more particularly, to a computer system configuration deduction engine. Various systems, methods, and software are described. Some embodiments include determining a scoping question to ask as a function of a response to one or more other scoping questions, wherein possible responses to one or more scoping questions are associated with one or more application configuration packages. Some such embodiments further include selecting one or more application configuration packages for deployment as a function of one or more received scoping question responses.

Abstract: The present subject mater relates to configuring software applications and, more particularly, content authoring of content within software applications. The various embodiments described herein provide systems, methods, and software to provide one or more user interfaces operable within an application. The user interfaces receive input creating, modifying, and deleting content, store and retrieve content from one or more content repositories in a memory device, and receive input. In some embodiments, this input defines one or more of scoping content, configuration content, and links between scoping content and configuration content.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for processing voice data from a call between a first human party and a second or more human parties and/or an automated attendant system, or between a first human party and one or more second human parties, wherein the voice data is generated from the call. The voice data may be analyzed with an automated voice recognition system and converted into text. Further, a timeline of the call may be recorded, with the recognized text being attributed to the timeline and stored.

Abstract: The present subject mater relates to software application configuration and, more particularly, an improvement assistant for software application configuration. Some of the various embodiment described herein provide systems, methods, and software to maintain a database of key performance indicator metrics and monitor application performance in view of the key performance indictor metrics to identify key performance indicator violations. Some embodiments further provide a key performance indictor violation notice upon identification of a key performance indicator violation.

Abstract: The present subject mater relates to configuration of computer applications and, more particularly, to design time application configuration. Various embodiments provide systems, methods, and software to store, in a memory device, a scoping input database, wherein the scoping input database holds one or more customer profiles, and store, in the memory device, a content data store. Some embodiments further store, in the memory device, an adaptation catalog, wherein the adaptation catalog links content stored in the content data store to possible customer profiles stored in the scoping input database. Some such embodiments execute one or more configuration processes, wherein the one or more configuration processes execute to instantiate an application configuration in a workspace area of the memory device, wherein the application configuration includes content selected as a function of a customer profile from the scoping input database and the adaptation catalog.

Abstract: The present subject mater relates to configuring computer applications and, more particularly, computer application content subscription. The various embodiments herein provide systems, methods, and software that maintain a representation of configuration settings in a database of one or more application instance configurations and receive new content, wherein the new content is linked to one or a combination of relevant configuration settings. Some such embodiments also identify application instances to receive the new content as a function of the relevant configuration setting links of the new content and the representation of configuration settings in the database and distribute the new content to the identified application instances.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided that enable synchronization and integration between business objects and user tasks. In some embodiments, the present invention allows for tight integration between business objects and tasks related to those objects. Tasks may be stored in a task “pool,” allowing multiple users to access some tasks. In Users may perform additional operations such as forwarding tasks or requesting clarification; task tracking; and technical monitoring. A task framework is provided that monitors business objects and creates, modifies, and completes tasks when appropriate changes are made to business objects.

Abstract: This invention is directed to a customer relationship management integration system and method in an online and an offline mode of operation. In this invention, CRM customer data, which is generally incompatible with groupware data, is manipulable by the groupware client. Customer data that can be fitted within standard groupware data structures is synchronized with the data structures for manipulation by standard groupware tools. Customer data that can not be fitted within standard groupware data structures is manipulable by special customer tools that may be used within the groupware client.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for non-redundant search results includes performing a first search of local files to generate a plurality of first search result elements. This search is performed in response to a search request. The apparatus and method further includes performing a second search based on the search request. The second search may performed across a remote connection, such as a network connection, to search a remote database. The search of the remote database generates a plurality of second search result elements. The method and apparatus conforms the formatting of the second search result elements and the first search result elements. Thereupon, duplicative search results are culled between the first search result elements and the second search result elements. As such, the method and apparatus generates non-redundant search results by excluding the duplicative search results between the different databases.

Abstract: A customer support wizard that compares customer data with attributes of support notes to identify which notes are relevant, and to systematically shrink the number of candidate notes by asking the customer questions. Questions are selected based on an analysis of the attributes of the remaining candidate notes. If no note is found, the customer's data is sent to a development team so that a new solution can be prepared and sent back to the customer. If a customer selects a note that is not an exact match, an assumption can be made that the note will solve the customer's problem after a threshold amount of time has transpired without further customer activity. After the threshold has expired, the customer's data and the note may automatically be sent to a development team for further study.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for compensation planning are provided. A request to initiate a compensation planning process for an organization may be received at a compensation planning application program executing on a computer system. The compensation planning application may generate a query to one or more databases to obtain performance indicator information that indicates the performance of units within the organization, and that information may be used to generate a data set that indicates the available compensation to be allocated and that lists units in the organization. The data may be transmitted to a first manager to allocate the available compensation among the units.

Abstract: A system and method for processing multiple mailings is provided. In some embodiments, electronic orders are received from mail originators, with each received order specifying the physical delivery of mail-pieces to destinations. A subset of each of the plurality of orders may be combined into a combined electronic order, and the combined electronic order may be transmitted to a mail-service provider for printing and mailing of the specified mail-pieces to the specified destinations.

Abstract: A remote printing system and method is provided. A server on a first private network may receive a request from a user that has performed a login procedure of the first private network, the request requesting the printing of a document to a specified printer. The first private network may determine that the printer is located on a second private network that has a login procedure that is separate from the login procedure of the first private network. The first private network may then reformat the print request and the document from a format native to the first private network to a format that is recognized by a module at the second private network, and may send the reformatted document and the reformatted print request to the second private network.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for obtaining information from a data management system. The data management system may determine if information from the data management was requested and, if so, may locate a data object containing the requested information and read the requested information from this data object, compile a response to the request with the requested information, and transmit the response to the requestor without an online connection being established between the requestor and the data management system. In some embodiments, a request to provide a user with updates to identified information may be received. A determination may be made whether an event occurs triggering the update of this information and, if so, the updated information may then be read from a data object and transmitted from the data management system to the user without an online connection being established between the user and the data management system.

Abstract: A system and method for generating a presentation material is provided. An embodiment of the present invention generates presentation materials using information stored and managed by a software application, such as a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application. According to one embodiment of the present invention, an operator selects (1) a presentation template and (2) a presentation audience. The template identifies data to be imported from external application. Based on the audience identification, the presentation generator places calls to external applications to export data therefrom and customizes the selected template with the imported data. In this way, embodiments of the present invention may provide a system and method for automatically generating a presentation that may reduce preparation time and human errors.

Abstract: A tool is proposed for supporting active documents. In one embodiment, an active document may be opened in an application program executing at a first computer, the active document being in a format recognized by the application program. Data relating to a first active document may be received data at the first computer from a user of the application program, and a search request based on the received data may be sent from the first computer to a second computer that maintains a plurality of data objects. In one embodiment, the application program at the first computer is unable to perform any functions with data objects at the second computer. The first computer may receive information relating to a result of the search request from the second computer and may store the information in the first active document.

Abstract: Integration techniques for bridging business management software systems with external objects and data. An action pad application program window provides an interface to these integration techniques, and includes a drop area to receive external objects by drag-and-drop, an information area to display information about received external objects and data, and an action menu to display actions responsive to the received external objects and data. When an external object is received in the drop area, a determination is made as to what actions are associated with the object type, and the actions are displayed in the action menu. The content of the external object is also examined, and additional actions, dependent on the content, are displayed. The action pad application program also actively monitors a user's e-mail and calendar, importing messages and events into the business management systems.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for integrating a list of selected data entries into a spreadsheet is provided. In some embodiments, data entries may be selected from a data set stored on a computer system using a first computer program to obtain a group of selected data entries. If a user of the first computer program has made a request to export the group of selected data entries from the first computer program to a spreadsheet program, the group of selected data entries may be formatted into a spreadsheet data file that is in a format recognized by the spreadsheet program and the spreadsheet program may execute with the spreadsheet data file. If it is determined that a request was received from the spreadsheet program for refreshed data, a current data value for at least one entry in the data set may be written into a corresponding entry in the spreadsheet data file.

Abstract: A collaboration system providing a guided procedure framework for handling business workflows which include non-persistent data. Data is copied from a business object linked to a database to a temporary business object that is independent from the database. Fields of a form are populated with data from the temporary business object. A workflow object including the populated form and guided procedures is provided to the user who initiated the workflow. After the user makes changes to the workflow and the data, the workflow object is relayed to a next recipient specified as having a task for the workflow. When all of the tasks necessary for the workflow are complete, data from the workflow object is integrated into the database.
