    Abstract: A method, system and computer program product relating to an application server operable to manage a microservice-based application, i.e. app, on behalf of clients, the clients being available for use by system actors who may be, for example, end users, bots, developers or other apps. A permissions validator is used to compute effective permissions in response to client requests. The requests are granted or denied conditional on the effective permissions being at least a subset of the permissions required to be given by any of the app's microservices that are needed for the resource being requested. The effective permissions are computed from an intersection of a set of actor permissions, a set of client permissions and a set of resource permissions.

    Abstract: A method for evaluating an height of an object in the surrounding environment of a vehicle, using ultrasonic signals acquired by an ultrasonic sensor mounted on the vehicle. In a measurement cycle, a first ultrasonic signal is acquired as an edge reflection or as a directly traveling echo of an object. An expectation window is calculated for an associated interior-corner reflection. A second ultrasonic signal acquired in the expectation window is recognized as an interior-corner reflection associated with the first ultrasonic signal. The first and second ultrasonic signals are combined to form a signal group. A significance is determined for each ultrasonic signal. The signal group is assigned to a first or second echo group. The rates of the assignment to the first and to the second echo group are determined over a number of measurement cycles. An evaluation of the height is based on the first and second rates.

    Abstract: A method for avoiding a collision of a vehicle with an obstacle, using at least one ultrasonic sensor. Reflection points are determined during a movement of the vehicle, the reflection points representing locations at which a signal of an ultrasonic sensor was reflected. The reflection points are combined into contiguous, linearly extending wall sections, a wall section having two ends. Furthermore, it is determined whether an end of a wall section is open or closed. The progression abutting an open end of a wall section is extrapolated, and virtual collision points between the vehicle and the extrapolated progression of the wall sections are ascertained. An initiation of a brake intervention follows if a collision with a virtual collision point is imminent. A driver assistance system including at least one ultrasonic sensor configured to carry out the method, and a vehicle including such a driver assistance system, are also described.
