  • Patent number: 8029274
Abstract: A convection oven with laminar airflow and/or moisture injection. A radial airflow fan is used to provide a circulating airflow that is substantially even and substantially turbulence free. The circulating airflow is provided to an oven chamber via a plurality of egress ports that rim a divider wall disposed between the oven chamber and a fan chamber. The airflow interleaves with a plurality of pans in the oven chamber to provide a laminar airflow. Moisture is injected into the circulating airflow either upstream of the fan or by flashing water onto the hot blades of the fan from either the low pressure side or the high pressure side of the fan.

  • Patent number: 8011412
Abstract: An apparatus for protecting the exterior or polished surface of wheels as tires are removed and placed on the wheel. The apparatus includes a substantially flat base having a plurality of stanchions extending out from the base. Each stanchion has a collar positioned adjacent to the base that includes a diameter greater than the stanchion. The stanchions are sized to fit through the bolt holes of the wheel in order to generally align each stanchion with one of those holes. Each collar is sized to be preferably slightly larger than the average bolt, or lug, hole on the wheel. Additionally, each collar is sized to cover substantially the same area as the lug nut or nut that normally attaches the wheels to the vehicle upon which they are used.

  • Publication number: 20110144937
Abstract: A system and method of determining the temperature of a rotating electromagnetic machine, such as an electric motor or generator. A temperature calibration parameter is calculated based on the temperature of an object situated close to the motor, such as a motor drive connected to the motor, and a first resistance value of the winding. In exemplary embodiments, the motor drive and first resistance value are determined only after the motor has been idle for some predetermined time period. Once the calibration parameter is calculated, the processor uses it along with subsequent resistance measurements to calculate the temperature of the motor.

  • Patent number: 7954422
Abstract: Cooking apparatus having first and second platens with product recognition. A positioning mechanism moves the second platen toward the first. A detector senses the second platen making contact with a food product disposed on the first platen and provides a signal. A controller uses the signal to measure the travel distance of the second platen. The product thickness is a function of the travel distance, which is used to select a cooking procedure for the food product. The controller then executes the selected cooking procedure to cook the food product. The detector can include a micro switch, proximity sensor, touch sensor, strain sensor, thermal sensor, optical sensor, sonar sensor or positioning load change sensor.

  • Patent number: 7934434
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for collection and analysis of dry powder inhaler products to determine foreign particulate matter found therein. The apparatus includes a collection chamber that communicates directly with the mouthpiece of a dry powder inhaler device. The collection chamber is used to both collect product samples, as well as to mix the samples with a diluent that places the active pharmaceutical components and excipients in solution, while the foreign particulate matter remains suspended. Analysis of a sample is preferably conducted by light obscuration wherein a probe is inserted directly within the collection chamber of the apparatus. An integral magnetic stir-bar incorporated within the apparatus eliminates the need to transfer the collected sample to a secondary vessel for mixing or analysis.

The monitoring station comprises a camera, a light and/or an audio deterrent device which are electrically connected to the power supply. The monitoring station can be contained in a post; and the post is part of a playground structure or can be a stand alone post. The audio deterrent device emits signals in a frequency range that is bothersome to humans between the ages of about 13 to about 25 years. The audio deterrent device and light are activated by a motion sensor. Further, the system includes a dusk-to-dawn sensor which also controls the audio deterrent device and the light. The camera can be in an “always-on” mode and can be adapted to transmit signals containing visual or audio-visual information. • Publication number: 20100290574
Abstract: To generate neutrons, a nuclei fusible material is placed between opposed anvils of a mechanical pressing device. Force is applied to an anvil face to compress the fusible material to a high pressure. A laser light pulse is then directed through the anvil face and into the compressed fusible material. This laser light pulse is focused by an optical system to a focal spot in the compressed fusible material, to cause a small portion of the compressed fusible material at the focal spot to be further locally compressed and heated to a temperature whereby a micro plasma is formed in which fusing of nuclei takes place. This fusion reaction of the nuclei in the fusible material thus generates neutrons. In a preferred embodiment, the mechanical pressing device is a diamond anvil, and the fusible material is one of deuterium, tritium, or a combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 7766926
Abstract: A sling for supporting a urethra in a patient has characteristics for resisting pull-out, roll-over and a combination of both pull-out and roll-over. To facilitate resistance to pull-out, sling material has protuberances or serrations to resist movement once placed in the patient by the surgeon. Improved resistance to roll-over or roll-up is achieved by providing relief on the sling in areas potentially subjected to roll-over forces by endopelvic fascia. The sling may be used on female or male patients, and may be used in conjunction with a wider support portion to support a bladder and a urethra, rather than a urethra alone. The sling may also be used to support other tissues within a patient.

A graphical user interface is generated to receive user input including a data source to search for information and a query indicating information which is desired from the data source. The user input is transmitted to the data source, the search is performed and information responsive to the query resulting from the search is received from the data source. The search results include characteristics of the responsive information. The responsive information is clustered into a plurality groups based on selected characteristic information and the user may select at least one group of the responsive information to be displayed.
