    Abstract: A wellbore sealing device having an elastomeric element with complex features and associated additive manufacturing method is disclosed. The complex features can include voids such as isolated voids and undercut-like voids that cannot be reasonably produced using existing molding techniques (e.g., due physically impossible mold shapes or cost-prohibitive mold requirements). These complex features can alleviate stress and increase radial expansion of the elastomeric element in response to axial compression of the elastomeric element. Such elastomeric elements with complex features can be additively manufactured (e.g., through three dimensional printing). In some cases, the elastomeric elements can be additively manufactured directly on a tool, such as on an end plate or mandrel of a wellbore sealing device.

    Abstract: A downhole tool assembly includes a downhole tool and an anchor. The anchor is positionable at a downhole work site and includes a wet-connect port for engaging a battery pack. The tool operates until the battery runs low on power, when a low battery power alert is activated. The tool may be anchored at the work site while the battery is disconnected and retrieved to the surface for replacement. One or more charged batteries are then deployed and connected to the tool without having to remove the tool from the worksite or reposition the tool. The tool may be coupled to a wireline cable or a slickline cable or coiled tubing having a conductive wire for delivering low-voltage power to the tool. While the low-voltage power may not be adequate to operate the tool at full load, the power may be used to charge the tool during downtime.

    Abstract: Assemblies and methods are provided for retrieving a sealing assembly from within a tubing string positioned downhole in a wellbore. The sealing assembly may include a plug that may include a non-elastomeric material at least partially surrounding an elastomeric material. The sealing assembly may be run downhole in the wellbore with the plug at an original diameter. The sealing assembly may be set such that the plug is expanded to a set diameter. The retrieval tool may be coupled to the sealing assembly and may be extended in a first direction. The extension of the retrieval tool may lengthen the sealing assembly. The lengthening of the sealing assembly may extend the length of the plug and may thereby reduce the diameter of the plug. In some aspects, the retrieval tool may reduce the diameter of the plug back to the original diameter.

    Abstract: Certain aspects and features of the disclosure relate to an anchor for a linear actuator. In one example, the anchor includes a body, a mandrel with at least two slip-receiving portions, and one or more slips. The body can be coupled to the linear actuator and the mandrel can be coupled to the power rod of the linear actuator. The linear actuator can power on and cause the power rod to move in an uphole direction toward the linear actuator. Moving the power rod can cause the mandrel to move in an uphole direction. The slip can respond to the mandrel moving in an uphole direction by expanding outward. The mandrel can continue to move in the uphole direction until the slip is received at a second slip-receiving portion.
