Publication number: 20250250426Abstract: This invention relates to a polymeric pipe obtained by a peroxide crosslinking process. The pipe is formed from a composition comprising a polyolefin structural polymer, a peroxide initiator in an amount of from about 0.2% to about 5% by weight, and a co-agent in an amount of from about 0.02% to about 5% by weight. The co-agent comprises at least two reactive carbon-carbon double bonds. The invention also relates to methods of forming said pipes. The invention also relates to the use of a co-agent in a composition to reduce bubble formation in a peroxide crosslinking process. The invention also relates to the use of such polymeric pipes for the transport of water.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 23, 2024Publication date: August 7, 2025Applicant: UPONOR INNOVATION ABInventors: Suresh SHENOY, Jacob JOHN, Mats THUNWALL, Shengzhen CAI, Patrik ROSEEN

Patent number: 11617311Abstract: Lignin formulations for making light-selective mulch, methods of making such lignin formulations, light-selective mulches comprising substrates treated with lignin formulations, and methods of making such light-selective mulches. Some methods involve preparing aqueous lignin formulations that can be used as coatings that, in turn, can be applied to a substrate, such as a paper web, to form a biodegradable, light-selective mulch. Some such mulches blocks at least some light in the ultraviolet and blue/green ranges (350 nm to 500 nm) of the visible light spectrum to inhibit weed growth below the mulch, while also transmitting light in the red/infrared ranges to heat the soil below the mulch.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2018Date of Patent: April 4, 2023Inventors: Harshad Pande, Michael A. Bilodeau, Jonathan M. Spender, Jacob John

Publication number: 20160144401Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method comprising dispersing one-dimensional objects in a liquid to form a mixture; and disposing the mixture on a substrate that has channels disposed on it; where the channels are of a width of 4 to 90 percent of the length of the one-dimensional object. Disclosed herein is an article comprising a substrate; where the substrate has channels disposed thereon; each channel being bounded by a wall; and a plurality of one-dimensional objects that are oriented relative to the walls on the substrate; and where the channels are of a width of 4 to 90 percent of the smallest length of the plurality of one-dimensional objects.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 8, 2015Publication date: May 26, 2016Inventors: Kenneth R. Patent number: 7855246Abstract: A plastic pipe is made of a cross-linked polyolefin to be utilized in, but not limited to, potable water applications. Certain antioxidants and stabilizers are added to a process for producing the plastic pipe. The added antioxidants and stabilizers remain as key components in the final plastic pipes, providing superior long term stability and resistance to oxidative degradation, the latter being caused by but not limited to, chlorinated water environments. At least a primary stabilizer is used in the material.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2007Date of Patent: December 21, 2010Assignee: Uponor Innovation AbInventors: Jan Ericsson, Jacob John, Lucas Brickweg
