  • Patent number: 5075113
Abstract: The invention provides new dietetic, laxative or cosmetic products which comprise an aqueous phase containing a proportion between 0.01 ane 10% by weight of water, an extract of lecithin enriched in phosphatidylcholine, which aqueous phase forms an emulsion with an oily phase comprised principally of paraffin hydrocarbons which are oily or solid at ambient temperature, for example vaseline and/or paraffin oil and of a lipo-soluble lecithin extract in proportions between 0.01 and 10% by weight of the paraffin hydrocarbons. The emulsion can moreover contain an inert mineral powder, such as kaolin, talc, calcium carbonate and/or monodiglycerides having a melting temperature above 50.degree. C. An application is the preparation of spreadable dietetic or laxative products or cosmetic milks or creams.

  • Patent number: 4718323
Abstract: The thermal deformation of an edge-restrained plate is expressed as a deflection of the plate out of its plane. Where the plate is used as a reference plane, the deformation of the plate can be quantitatively monitored and compensated for. In the case of a radiantly heated plate, the temperature gradient adjacent an edge of the plate is a linear function of the plate deformation. With convective cooling, the temperature drop from an initial condition relates linearly to deformation. Consequently, relatively simple temperature measurements will provide the necessary information. The invention has particular application to the roof of a military tank turret that is used as a reference plane for a gun sighting system.

  • Patent number: 4665795
Abstract: A muzzle reference system is provided for correcting errors in aiming signals produced by a fire-control system of an artillery gun having a gun muzzle pivotable about a first axis and movable about a second axis extending perpendicularly of the first axis. A laser beam transmitting unit adapted to be mounted on the gun for movement with the barrel about the second axis, directs a laser beam along an optical axis in response to an activating signal. A reflection unit, adapted to be mounted at the distal end of the barrel, reflects a laser beam received from the transmitting unit along the optical axis substantially along a reference optical axis at a predetermined angular position of the barrel about the first axis. A laser beam receiving unit, adapted to be mounted on the gun, receives a laser beam reflected substantially along the reference optical axis and produces signals representative of the deviation of the reflected beam from the perdetermined optical axis.

  • Patent number: 4098879
Abstract: The present invention relates to new chemical compounds which can be used as inhibitors of dental plaque, and orally-acceptable compositions thereof, combinations thereof with known compounds having an inhibitory action on the formation of dental plaque, such as biguanidines, and method of treating therewith for the prevention of dental plaque or tartar and dental caries. The new compounds have the general formula ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 = H or alkylR.sub.2 = ch.sub.2 oh, alkyl carboxylate, ##STR2## and R.sub.2 is in 2 or 3 position.Compositions containing these active principles are useful in particular in the preventive treatment of periodontopathies and odontopathies and in the field of oral-dental hygiene.

  • Patent number: 4014579
Abstract: A brake cylinder device including a conventional release piston spring-biased toward a full-application or emergency application position and operable responsively to fluid pressure applied thereto in opposing relation to the spring force acting thereon, to a brake release position, a conventional service application piston, both pistons being subjectable concurrently to fluid pressure for operating the release piston to its release position and the service piston to a service brake application position in accordance with the degree of fluid pressure acting thereon, and a locking mechanism for automatically locking the release piston in its release position upon attainment of a full service application and thereafter during service braking operation at less than full service level and while the vehicle is in motion, and being operable for unlocking the release piston upon stopping of the vehicle and withdrawal of service braking fluid pressure.

  • Patent number: 3998362
Abstract: There is disclosed an apparatus for supplying a dry mortar mix comprising containers with a gate valve at one end and a hook at the opposite end and a support for holding at least two such containers with the gate valve lowermost and the hook uppermost. The support is placed at a construction site and the containers are filled at a plant with dry sand and cement mortar mix and are delivered to the construction site by truck. Installation of the containers and the support is done by a crane. Empty container(s) are removed and replaced by full one(s). Other container(s) can be tapped in the meantime to ensure that the supply of mix is continuous.
