  • Patent number: 6050298
Abstract: Safety circuit breaker for a pressurized fluid handling installation wherein the circuit breaker includes a male element and a female element which are adapted to be connected axially with respect to one another such that, when assembled, the male element is connected to a sleeve mounted within the female element. Movement of the male element to a position of unlocking relative to the female element causes the internal sleeve to move from a first position to a second position wherein at least one orifice within the female element is blocked to prevent fluid flow therethrough. The at least one orifice is directed radially relative to the axis of the male and female element such that pressure against the sleeve is radial and not axial. A locking of the male element relative to the female element is created by balls which are carried by a slide which is elastically urged so as to force the balls into a groove in the male element.

  • Patent number: 5791382
Abstract: A collar for selectively connecting and disconnecting twines and harness cords in a jacquard harness mechansim for a weaving loom. The collar includes a socket element having at least one elastically deformable chuck with jaws for engaging a prong of a male element inserted within the socket element. The male element includes a shuttle which is moveable along a rod which extends from the prong to an intermediate portion of the male element which aligns the male element with the socket element. The shuttle separates the jaws of the at least one elastically deformable chuck during relative axial movement of the male element with respect to the socket element to permit the prong of the male element to be inserted into or withdrawn from engagement with the socket element.

  • Patent number: 5636663
Abstract: A harness system for weaving looms wherein neck cords connected to an actuating mechanism for controlling the movement of at least one heddle are releasably connected to harness cords connected to the at least one heddle by way of collars having releasably engageable male and female portions. The harness cords pass through openings in a control member which is reciprocally moveable so as to move the collars relative to guides through which the neck cords extend from the actuating mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5634624
Abstract: A quick disconnect coupler for releasably coupling pipes which incorporates a valve assembly including a valve sleeve, a ring surrounding the sleeve, a spring for resiliently urging the ring relative to the sleeve and a valve seat carried by the ring, which valve assembly may be inserted within a principal member of a female element of the connector and be frictionally retained therein until being mechanically retained by a rear member selectively insertable within the principal member.

  • Patent number: 5630570
Abstract: A quick coupling connector for removably connecting pipes, including a male member which is selectively connected within a female member to open a resiliently biased valve mounted within the female member. A safety ring is mounted about the female member and incorporates claws to axially retain the male member in a position intermediate a fully seated position within the female member and a fully released position after a first axial movement of a bush, which encloses both the male and female members, in a first direction opens a locking ring which also incorporates claws which are engageable with the male member and which normally secures the male member within the female member. In the intermediate position, a pipe associated with the male member is allowed to decompress after which the bush is moved in a second direction opposite the first direction, thereby releasing the claws of the safety ring and resulting in the release of the male member.

  • Patent number: 5335931
Abstract: Ski shaped like an elongated beam, comprising a lower slide face bounded laterally by two lower edges, an upper face bounded laterally by two upper edges, and two lateral faces, the ski being constituted by a central part extended toward the front by a front part ending, at its front end, by the tip and extended toward the rear by a rear part ending, at its rear end, in the heel-piece. The front part is constituted by a front section connected to the central part by a front intermediate connection section, while this rear part is formed by a rear section connected to the central part by a rear intermediate connection section. The two upper edges of the upper surface are parallel in the central part, while one of the two front or rear section is such that, in this area, first, the lateral faces are inclined so as to converge upward, and second, the upper surface is narrower than it is in the central part and has a uniform width.

  • Patent number: 5244227
Abstract: A ski including an upper surface whose transverse section has a rounded convex shape over the greater portion of the length of the ski. The average radius of the upper surface varies in accordance with the considered longitudinal position of the transverse section along the ski, and is less in the central zone of the ski than in the vicinity of the front and rear end of the ski. This enables the height to be increased in the central portion of the ski and at the same time to reduce the height of the sides of the ski.
