Publication number: 20070289669Abstract: A refrigerator is provided in which, when a structure that secures space to place a container is provided in a dispenser, an object can be dispensed from the dispenser regardless of the position of the structure. The dispenser includes a dispensing port in which an object is dispensed, a switch installed in the dispensing port to dispense the object, a support pivotally installed in the dispensing port and unfoldable from a folded state to place various vessels thereon, and an access portion of the support providing access to the switch to activate the switch in the folded state of the support. The access portion may be a cut-off portion such that the switch is inserted into the support to be exposed or an auxiliary switch to transmit force to the switch when the object is dispensed to indirectly activate the switch. Moreover, the support may directly access the switch.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 3, 2007Publication date: December 20, 2007Applicant: SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD.Inventors: Jae An, Jung Kim, Jong Kim

Patent number: 7159648Abstract: A heat exchanger including upper and lower header tanks, a vertical baffle in the lower header tank defining first and second longitudinal chambers, a check valve, two tube rows, and a coolant inlet to the first chamber and outlet from the second chamber. The baffle includes a by-pass hole therethrough. One tube row includes a plurality of vertical tubes extending between the upper header tank and the first chamber of the lower header tank, and the other tube row includes a plurality of vertical tubes extending between the upper header tank and the second chamber of the lower header tank. The check valve creates a leak-proof seal during standard operating mode to prevent pressure release from the header tank and creates an air path between the header tank and the environment during draining mode to allow vacuum relief from the header tank.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 2004Date of Patent: January 9, 2007Assignee: Modine Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Alan P. Publication number: 20060070386Abstract: A refrigerator and a method of making shaved ice by controlling a period during which ice is fed into an ice-shaving compartment, thereby preventing ice from overflowing the ice-shaving compartment and preventing the ice-shaving compartment from being broken due to an excessive amount of ice. The method of making shaved ice comprises feeding cubed ice stored in an ice-storing unit mounted in a freezing compartment to a shaved ice-making unit mounted at a discharge port side of the ice-storing unit though an ice-feeding unit to make shaved ice, setting a driving time for the shaved ice-making unit, and setting a driving time for the ice-feeding unit. The driving time for the shaved ice-making unit is longer than the driving time for the ice-feeding unit.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 27, 2005Publication date: April 6, 2006Applicant: SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD.Inventor: Jae An

Publication number: 20050162235Abstract: Disclosed are a waveguide type signal attenuator for attenuating an input signal as desired and a waveguide type signal terminator for making an input signal be utterly disappeared, where a manufacturing-easy resistor sheet is inserted into the center area, along which a traveling electromagnetic wave has the maximum intensity, of the signal attenuator and the signal terminator. In the signal terminator and the signal attenuator, a predetermined part of the waveguide which is formed in a lower conductive plate is expanded out along the half-height plane of the waveguide to form a resistor sheet setting groove and a portion of the elongated cavity positioned behind the resistor sheet setting groove forms a lower half of the waveguide. In addition, a resistor sheet is inserted between the resistor sheet setting groove and a protrusion part which protrudes from an upper conductive plate, of the half-height of the waveguide holds the resistor sheet to form an upper half portion of the waveguide.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2004Publication date: July 28, 2005Applicant: ComoTech CorporationInventors: Jae An, Young Yoo
