  • Patent number: 7894858
Abstract: An apparatus and method for selecting at least two users to be serviced in SDMA in an SDMA wireless communication system are provided. All users are ordered according to a predetermined rule and all possible user combinations each having at least two users are created from the ordered users. An investigation limit number is set using the capacity of a jth user combination. Or a total investigation number is reduced by comparing the interference-reflected SNR decrements of users with an investigation threshold. Therefore, the computation volume for selecting SDMA users is decreased.

  • Patent number: 7835326
Abstract: A scheduling apparatus for a base transceiver system (BTS), determines a point of data transmission to mobile stations (MSs). The BTS includes buffers for storing data to be transmitted to the MSs. A scheduler determines a priority of each of the MSs taking into account a data rate determined depending on a channel condition between the BTS and the MSs, a required amount of transmission data, and an amount of data to be transmitted to the MSs, and determines an MS having the highest priority among the MSs, as a destination MS to which data is to be transmitted by the BTS. The scheduler increases the required amount of transmission data upon receipt of a retransmitted data packet, and decreases the required amount of transmission data after transmitting data to the MSs.

  • Publication number: 20100208717
Abstract: A base station includes a center frequency setting unit, a local oscillator, a baseband processor, and an RF processor. In the event of a frequency band change, the center frequency setting unit sets a center frequency of a use frequency channel to have a predetermined offset value with respect to a center frequency before the frequency band change. The local oscillator generates an LO frequency signal according to the center frequency set by the center frequency setting unit. The baseband processor generates a downlink baseband signal. The RF processor uses the LO frequency signal to convert the downlink baseband signal into an RF signal prior to transmission.

  • Patent number: 7636571
Abstract: A method for allocating a frequency to a subscriber station (SS) in handover operation in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) system. In the method, the SS checks safety channel frequencies for a target base station (BS), generates a safety channel frequency request message for requesting allocation of the checked safety channel frequencies, and transmits the safety channel frequency request message. Upon receiving the safety channel frequency request message from the SS, a serving BS allocates frequencies for a requested channel, and transmits an allocation message with the frequency allocation information to the SS. The serving BS transmits a channel allocation request message to the target BS according to the frequency allocation information. Upon receiving the channel allocation request message, the target BS allocates the safety channel frequencies to the SS.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for eliminating interference in a base station (BS) of a communication system. A first BS receives a first reception signal from a first mobile station located in a cell of the first base station. A second base station being adjacent to the first base station delivers decoding information of a second reception signal to the first base station, the second reception signal received from a second mobile station located in a cell of the second base station. The first BS determines whether an error exists on the second reception signal, based on the decoding information and re-generates an interference signal using the decoding information of the second reception signal when no error exists in the second reception signal, and performing interference elimination on the first reception signal using the re-generated interference signal.
