  • Patent number: 10969852
Abstract: A method and a gateway system for enabling adaptive power management. The gateway system is powered by a rechargeable battery that is coupled with a solar power source. A location reading indicating a location of the gateway system is transmitted at a first time. A solar profile is received from a management server. The solar profile indicates a measure of power expected to be generated at the location during an interval of time that occurs after the first time by the solar power source. The gateway system determines based on a current battery level of the rechargeable battery and the solar profile an optimal power usage plan for the gateway system and operates according to the optimal power usage plan during the interval of time.

  • Patent number: 10951879
Abstract: A method for synthesising a viewpoint, comprising: capturing a scene using a network of cameras, the cameras defining a system volume of the scene, wherein a sensor of one of the cameras has an output frame rate for the system volume below a predetermined frame rate; selecting a portion of the system volume as an operational volume based on the sensor output frame rate, the predetermined frame rate and a region of interest, the operational volume being a portion of the system volume from which image data for the viewpoint can be synthesised at the predetermined frame rate, wherein a frame rate for synthesising a viewpoint outside the operational volume is limited by the output frame rate; reading, from the sensors at the predetermined frame rate, image data corresponding to the operational volume; and synthesising the viewpoint at the predetermined frame rate using the image data.

  • Patent number: 10887519
Abstract: A method of stabilising frames of a captured video sequence. First reference patch alignment data is received for each of a plurality of reference patch locations. A first stable frame and a subsequent stable frame are determined from a first plurality of frames based on the first plurality of reference patch locations and reference patch alignment data. A second plurality of reference patch locations is determined using image data from the first stable frame, the second plurality of reference patch locations being determined concurrently with determining the subsequent stable frame from the first plurality of frames. Image data for the determined second plurality of reference patch locations is extracted from the subsequent stable frame. A second plurality of stable frames of the captured video sequence is determined with respect to the reference frame using the second plurality of reference patch locations and the extracted image data.

  • Patent number: 10878577
Abstract: A method of segmenting an image of a scene captured using one of a plurality of cameras in a network. A mask of an image of a scene captured by a first one of said cameras is received. A set of pixels in the mask likely to be in a foreground of an image captured by a second one of said cameras is determined based on the received mask, calibration information, and a geometry of the scene. A set of background pixels for the second camera is generated based on the determined set of pixels. The generated set of background pixels is transmitted to the second camera. The image of the scene captured by the second camera is segmented using the transmitted background pixels.

  • Publication number: 20200400304
Abstract: A device for discharging the contents of a spray canister, wherein the device has a safety button, and wherein the safety button is configured to guard against accidental discharge of the contents of the spray canister. The safety button is further configured to snap into position either on a safety ON or OFF position and stay in either position until toggled. A discharge trigger is configured to be operated by pushing the safety button sideways to the safety OFF position and then pushing the discharge trigger forward to expel the content of the spray canister. A tumbler tongue is configured to slide into the central housing opening when the safety button is in the ON position, rendering the discharge trigger immovable. A cam follower pin is configured to slide along the tumbler cam contour.

  • Publication number: 20200160560
Abstract: A method of stabilising a captured video. The method includes receiving a set of reference patch locations in a reference frame and reference patch alignment data for each location and receiving a frame of captured video. A first offset and a first subset of patch locations are selected from the set of reference patch locations. A second offset more than a pre-determined distance from the first offset and a second subset of patch locations from the reference patch locations are selected. The method further includes analysing image data for the frame of captured video at each patch location of the first and second subsets according to the corresponding reference patch alignment data to generate corresponding shift estimates; analysing the shift estimates to generate corresponding alignment transforms and confidence metrics; and selecting one of the alignment transforms according to the confidence metrics for stabilising the video.

  • Publication number: 20200108365
Abstract: An exemplary compounding method of controlling a compounding device to prepare an admixture of at least two distinct material sources can include examining material source solutions for incompatibility of the ingredients and operating a first and a second pump to prevent one of the incompatible source solutions from entering a common flow path. The processing method can detect degradation of a fluid line by evaluating one or more of calibration error rate data, cumulative volumetric flow data, or cumulative pump operation data. The processing method can also selectively transfer a first group of source solutions using the first pump, receiving pump data from one or more sensors that sense actions of the pumps, applying fluid correction factors and calculating discrete pump movements, the pump movements being indicative of an amount of source solution displacement by a pump, and operating the pumps to selectively dispense the source solution amounts according to a preparation order.

  • Patent number: 10579123
Abstract: A method and a management server located in the cloud, for enabling adaptive power management in a gateway system, are described. The management server receives, from the gateway system powered by a rechargeable battery that is coupled with a solar power source, a location measurement indicating the location of the gateway system at a first time. The management server determines a solar profile indicating a measure of the power expected to be generated by the solar power source at the location during an interval of time that occurs after the first time. The management server transmits the solar profile to the gateway system causing the gateway system to determine based on a current battery level of the rechargeable battery and the solar profile an optimal power usage plan for the gateway system and to operate according to the optimal power usage plan during the interval of time.
