Abstract: In general, techniques of the present disclosure are directed to a system for virtual socializing between electronic devices. In one example, the method includes joining, by a first computing device, a communication session enabling communication between the first computing device and a second computing device. The method includes outputting, multimedia content that is output at the second computing device. The method also includes receiving and outputting, by the first computing device, data from the second computing device using the communication session, while the multimedia content is outputting at the first output device, where the data comprises data captured by an input device of the second computing device. The method further includes sending a configuration request that sets a control model mode of the communication session, where the control model mode controls which computing devices communicatively coupled via the communication session has permission to modify at least the multimedia content.

Abstract: A bitumen stream is upgraded by heating to near-critical or super-critical conditions in the stream. The bitumen stream may be from a water-based extraction process, an in situ bitumen recovery process, or a solvent-based bitumen extraction process. To achieve an appropriate feed stream composition, water and/or clay may be added. The clay offers a catalytic effect. To achieve an appropriate feed stream composition, water may alternatively be removed.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method of processing bitumen streams using membrane filtration. In one aspect, membrane filtration replaces paraffinic froth treatment, with one or more filtration steps replacing gravity settling. In another aspect, the bitumen stream is subjected to paraffmic solvent treatment at much higher flow rates, with an “almost cleaned” product being subsequently filtered by the membrane system. In this case, some contaminants are removed by conventional gravity settling equipment, while additional contaminants are removed by membrane filtration. In another aspect, membrane filtration is applied to a bitumen product effluent stream following naphthenic froth treatment. In another aspect, membrane filtration is applied to a bitumen product effluent stream from a solvent-based extraction process. In yet another aspect, membrane filtration is applied to a bitumen product effluent stream from a solvent extraction with solids agglomeration process.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to the integration of at least two viscous oil recovery processes (VORPs), at least one of which is a solvent-dominated recovery process (SDRP). Integration of the SDRP and the VORP may be achieved through at least one of: solvent, heat, a production stream, and a viscous oil reservoir.

The method includes obtaining a raster image corresponding to the geographic data file, and correlating the raster image to the earth's surface. A list of probable coordinate systems for the raster image is generated, and a statistical analysis is performed for each likely coordinate system candidate. The suggested coordinate systems are then ranked using statistical analysis.

Abstract: The present disclosure, in some implementations comprises systems and methods for providing applications during video communication, via online communities or services, for example, social networks. Video communication may be video conferencing or “video chat” sessions among a plurality of users of the online services. Users may engage in a video conference or “video chat,” yet at the same time, use or obtain different applications, designated as either “personal” or “shared” applications. A “personal” application is one that does not involve others and is configured to enhance an individual user's personal experience during a group video communication. A “shared” application is one that involves at least one of multiple users during a group video communication, for example, users may participate in a card or trivia game, watch videos together, collaborate and share documents, or the like.

Abstract: A frequency-shifting interferometer is arranged for measuring an optical profile of a test object with a continuously tunable light source. A succession of the interference images of the test object are captured together with a measure of the beam frequencies at which interference images are formed. A limited number of the captured interference images of the test object are selected so that the monitored beam frequencies approximately match a predetermined beam frequency spacing pattern. Further processing proceeds based on the selected interference images.

Abstract: A Fizeau interferometer incorporates an off-axis paraboloidal reflector that forms virtual images of reference and test surfaces and a camera lens that converts the virtual images into real images on a camera detector surface. The camera detector surface is arranged together with the camera lens to accommodate tilting of the virtual images by the off-axis paraboloidal reflector.

Finally, the presenting step can include displaying audiovisual television content combined with hypermedia content in a television set.

Abstract: Bitumen within raw oilsands may be cracked and fully recovered by light hydrocarbon extraction following exposure to modified natural zeolite catalysts under cracking conditions. The recovered bitumen is reduced in viscosity, with lower boiling point distributions. Effective cracking of oilsands bitumen using economical, abundant and readily disposable natural zeolites represents a significant step towards a waterless and environment friendly extraction process.

Bitumen mining operations require heat input for heating fluids used in the mining process. A method and system of recovering heat from a thermal recovery operation for use in bitumen mining operation may include a heated donor fluid from a thermal recovery operation which heats an acceptor fluid for use in bitumen mining via proximal heat exchange using a power cycle or heat exchange module, such as an ammonia and water based Kalina® Cycle.

Abstract: Methods and systems for recovering heat and water from waste streams produced during oil sands extraction to form dry, stackable tailings. A tailings stream is preheated in a heat exchanger, thereby reducing the energy required to dry the tailings. The preheated tailings are then dried, thereby reducing the tailings to dry stackable tailings or thickened tailings suitable for mine backfill. Heat and high-quality water are recovered from the drying operation and re-used in the preheat operation, or in other steps of oil sands extraction or treatment processes, thereby reducing the overall heat and water requirements.
