  • Publication number: 20060292216
Abstract: The present invention provides stable encapsulated (?)-hydroxycitric acid (“HCA”) dosage unit forms, uses thereof, as well as and methods of making the same. In particular, HCA and the salts, esters and amides of HCA according to the invention are delivered via enteric vehicles, such as enteric-coated tablets, and also enteric and enteric-coated capsules and soft gelatin capsules (softgels). Enteric-coatings may be applied externally to the HCA-containing dosage unit form or, in the case of capsules and soft gelatin capsules, the enteric compound also may be incorporated into the gelatin shell to yield an HCA-containing dosage unit form of the invention. The HCA-containing compositions are protected against acid degradation, lactonization and undesirable ligand binding in select environments.

  • Publication number: 20060249813
Abstract: A method of forming a semiconductor device having two different strains therein is provided. The method includes forming a strain in a first region with a first straining film, and forming a second strain in a second region with a second straining film. Either of the first or second strains may be either tensile or compressive. Additionally the strains may be formed at right angles to one another and may be additionally formed in the same region. In particular a vertical tensile strain may be formed in a base and collector region of an NPN bipolar transistor and a horizontal compressive strain may be formed in the extrinsic base region of the NPN bipolar transistor. A PNP bipolar transistor may be formed with a compression strain in the base and collector region in the vertical direction and a tensile strain in the extrinsic base region in the horizontal direction.

  • Publication number: 20060213168
Abstract: In a swather formed by a tractor and attached heeder for cutting standing crop to form a swath, reel speed and optionally draper speed are controlled relative to ground speed by a control system including a manually operable input and display available to the operator. The control system can be used in an automatic mode to set an index value for an actual difference in reel speed relative to ground speed and to vary reel speed accordingly. In this mode a manually operable control varies the index. The control system can be switched by the operator to manual in which case the same control varies the actual reel speed. Minimum reel speed can be set by the same control and when operative the automatic system does not allow reel speed to fall below the minimum set value despite the values of index and ground speed.

  • Publication number: 20060207112
Abstract: The present invention relates to a pocket knife having a rotation type can opener for opening a can. The rotation type can opener has a crank, a shaft, a gear and a cutting blade; the upper rim of the can is put to be infixed between the cutting blade and the gear, with the top end of the can holding the cutting blade; the crank is rotated to drive the rotation of the shaft, the rotated shaft further drives the rotation of the gear, and the rotated gear engages the upper rim of the can and drives the rotation of the can; the top end of the rotated can produces a pressure against the cutting blade so that the cutting blade first penetrates and then rotationally cuts apart the top end of the can.

  • Publication number: 20060201732
Abstract: A tractor has hydraulically driven wheels at a cab end and castor wheels at an engine end. It can be driven cab forward in a working mode with a header on the forward end. It is rotated to engine forward in the transport position for more stable higher speed travel. The driver's console is rotated in the cab with the steering and speed control elements moved with the seat for the driver to face forwards and its position is detected by switches. In the engine forward position for transportation, the control system detects the seat position and operates the controls for higher speed drive and to prevent operation of the header. A vehicle emblem SMV is located on the back of the driver's seat so that it is visible to a person behind regardless of the direction of travel.

  • Publication number: 20060204554
Abstract: The present invention is based on the discovery that moist heat treated ruminant animal feed compositions comprising a fermentation biomass, have increased amounts of proteinaceous matter that escapes fermentation within the rumen. The ruminant animal feed compositions may further comprise, alone or in combination, one or more of an isolated enzyme, an organic acid, a gluten protein, at least one divalent metal ion and at least one plant extract. The proteinaceous matter may then be digested or metabolized in the post-rumen portions of the ruminant digestive system, thereby providing further increased energy and protein levels for ruminant animals during times of increased productivity. Compositions and methods of manufacture of the compositions of the embodiments of the present disclosure are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20060141030
Abstract: The present invention provides stable encapsulated (?)-hydroxycitric acid (“HCA”)-containing compositions and methods of making the same. A method is provided by which the hygroscopic salts of HCA in their relatively pure and active forms, including especially the potassium salt, but also including the sodium salt, are rendered non-hygroscopic and stable (that is, not prone to lactonization, not readily subject to attachment to ligands which inhibit absorption or lead to excretion, and so forth) such that these HCA salts might be included in dry delivery formats, liquid delivery and in controlled-release vehicles. The nonhygroscopic salts of HCA and its derivatives likewise may be protected against acid degradation, lactonization and undesirable ligand binding when exposed to acidic environments or other challenging conditions. The method taught herein can be employed to reduce the polar/ionic qualities of HCA salts and derivatives when presented to the intestinal lumen to provide advantages in absorption.

  • Publication number: 20060123759
Abstract: A forage conditioner for conditioning cut crop material from a forage harvester includes a fixed bottom fluted roller carried in end housings and a top fluted roller which is pivotally mounted on the housings by a linkage pivotal relative to the housing about an axis lying in a plane at right angles to the roller axes so that the top roller is liftable from crushing position against the bias of a spring extending along the top roller. Rotation of the bottom roller is transferred to the top roller through a gear train which includes two idler gears each mounted on a respective arm with the arms constrained to move symmetrically relative to the rollers by intermeshing teeth on the arms so as to control the angular timing of the rollers to ensure accurate intermeshing of the flutes.

  • Publication number: 20060081934
Abstract: A bipolar transistor with raised extrinsic base and selectable self-alignment between the extrinsic base and the emitter is disclosed. The fabrication method may include the formation of a predefined thickness of a first extrinsic base layer of polysilicon or silicon on an intrinsic base. A dielectric landing pad is then formed by lithography on the first extrinsic base layer. Next, a second extrinsic base layer of polysilicon or silicon is formed on top of the dielectric landing pad to finalize the raised extrinsic base total thickness. An emitter opening is formed using lithography and RIE, where the second extrinsic base layer is etched stopping on the dielectric landing pad. The degree of self-alignment between the emitter and the raised extrinsic base is achieved by selecting the first extrinsic base layer thickness, the dielectric landing pad width, and the spacer width.
