  • Publication number: 20200039042
Abstract: A garbage disposal installation tool can support a garbage disposal at an installation position beneath a sink drain. The tool includes a hook configured to hang the garbage disposal from the hook and a suspender configured to suspend the hook beneath a connection point with the sink. The suspender can have an elastic segment that is extended during use to impart a biasing force that urges the garbage disposal toward a bottom portion of the sink. The suspender can also be a flexible suspension line that includes a plurality of connectors at spaced apart locations for connecting the suspender to the sink at respective locations. The tool can include a brace configured to rest on the sink over the drain opening. The brace can include a slot that defines the connection point and is arranged to be in communication with the drain opening when the brace rests on the sink.

  • Patent number: 9607532
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system that includes a support member and a sign supported by the support member. The sign may have a generally planar shape and may extend in a plane. The system also includes a repositioning mechanism coupled to the sign and the support member. The repositioning mechanism rotates the sign substantially in-plane. The system may further include a controller for controlling rotation of the sign. In one implementation, the repositioning mechanism is retrofitted on an existing sign and an existing support member. The repositioning mechanism may include a power source attached to the support member that provides power to the repositioning mechanism. The repositioning mechanism may further include a linkage attached to the sign and a transmission for transferring rotational power to the sign, wherein the transmission is interconnected between the power source and the linkage.

  • Patent number: 9273350
Abstract: A method for the detection of a target nucleic acid, which method comprises contacting template nucleic acid from a sample with (i) a signalling system and (ii) a tailed nucleic acid primer having a template binding region and the tail comprising a linker and a target binding region, in the presence of appropriate nucleoside triphosphates and an agent for polymerisation thereof, under conditions such that the template binding region of the primer will hybridise to a complementary sequence in the template nucleic acid and be extended to form a primer extension product, separating any such product from the template whereupon the target binding region in the tail of the primer will hybridise to a sequence in the primer extension product corresponding to the target nucleic acid, and wherein any such target specific hybridisation causes a detectable change in the signalling system, such that the presence or absence of the target nucleic acid in the sample is detected by reference to the presence or absence of a de

Abstract: A kitchen utensil selectively usable as tongs or a spatula. The utensil has first and second arms each with first and second ends. The first ends are pivotally secured together and the arms are moveable between a position where they are adjacent each other and a position where they are at an angle relative to each other. The second arm telescopes and is movable between a retracted position and an extended position. When retracted, the second ends are substantially adjacent and opposite each other. When extended, the second end of the second arm is positioned a distance outwardly beyond the second end of the first arm. The second end of the first arm is a shaped tong member and the second end of the second arm is a spatula member.
