  • Patent number: 10020377
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an electronic device comprising a first terminal (e.g. a source terminal), a second terminal (e.g. a drain terminal), a semiconductor channel connecting the first and second terminals and a gate terminal to which a potential may be applied to control a conductivity of the channel. The method comprises a first exposure of a photoresist from above the substrate using a mask and a second exposure from below, wherein in the second exposure the first and second terminals shield a part of the photoresist from exposure. An intermediate step reduces the solubility of the photoresist exposed in the first exposure. A window is formed in the photoresist at the location which was shielded by the mask, but exposed to radiation from below. Semiconductor material, dielectric material and conductor material are deposited inside the window to form a semiconductor channel, gate dielectric, and a gate terminal, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20170330159
Abstract: The custodial block chain network is a distributed network of systems, including at least a first entity system, a second entity system, and a custodian entity system, wherein the network allows the first entity to quickly, securely, and easily allocate resources associated with a first user, via an electronic contract stored in the block chain, from the first entity to a second user associated with a second entity. The custodian entity system provides, through the use of the network, resource pools for the first and the second entities, and holds allocated resources from the first entity system until acceptance of the electronic contract. Upon acceptance of the electronic contract, the resources are released by the custodian entity to the resource pool associated with the second entity allowing the second entity to provide the allocated resources to the second user.

  • Publication number: 20170282352
Abstract: The present invention is a novel lanyard system for a piece releaseably connected to a tool by a piece receiver that includes a lanyard assembly with a two ended strap and a retraction system fixed to the tool in a storage region of the tool. In particular, one end of the strap is connected to the piece and the other strap end is connected to one end of the retraction system. The other end of the retraction system is connected to the tool. The strap is of sufficient length for the retraction system to retract a piece to the storage region after disconnection from the piece receiver. It is contemplated that the retraction system includes at least one spring (coil or helical) to cause the lanyard system to remain under tension while the piece is mounted in a piece receiver, thereby preventing or at least reducing the strap from interfering with the task at hand, the piece, the piece receiver or tool itself.

  • Publication number: 20170286977
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for consumption based subscription frequency recommendations. A system configured to practice the example method first evaluates purchase statistics for an item to determine a consumption frequency. The system receives from a user a request for the item, and presents to the user a subscription recommendation based on the consumption frequency. The system can also provide recommendations for accessories by evaluating purchase statistics for an item to determine an accessory for the item, wherein a number of times the accessory is purchased with the item exceeds a threshold, receiving from a user a request for a subscription for recurring purchases of the item, and presenting to the user a recommendation to include the accessory as part of the subscription.

  • Patent number: 9772200
Abstract: A magnetically-based position sensor. The sensor includes a magnet, a first collector, a second collector, and a magnetic sensing element. The magnet has at least two poles, and moves along a path. The first collector has a first end and a second end and is configured to collect a magnetic flux. In addition, the first collector is positioned at an angle relative to an axis running parallel to the path and perpendicular to the magnet. The second collector is configured to collect a magnetic flux, and is positioned at an angle relative to the axis running parallel to the path and perpendicular to the magnet, and parallel to the first collector. The magnetic sensing element is coupled to the first and second collectors. A magnetic flux is collected by the first and second collectors, and varies as the magnet moves along the path such that the magnetic flux collected by the first and second collectors indicates a position of the magnet along the path.

  • Publication number: 20170243212
Abstract: Embodiments enable a system operatively connected with a block chain distributed network to use the block chain distributed network for validation (i.e., authorization) of a payment transaction. The system receives a transaction record associated with a payment transaction, wherein the transaction record comprises transaction data indicating a payor, a payee and an amount; accesses a distributed ledger stored in the memory device, wherein the distributed ledger is updated based on communications from a block chain distributed network; and, using payment transaction logic, determines whether the transaction record represents a valid transaction by, e.g., communicate the transaction record to a validating node for validation of the transaction record. Once validated, the system (or validating node) communicates validation of the transaction record to the block chain distributed network, e.g.
