  • Patent number: 4370924
Abstract: A baler for baling crop material, comprising a feed mechanism including two relatively slidable elongate support members (6, 10) carrying a plurality of depending feed fingers (7, 9, 18), a feed area (1) within which the feed fingers are movable, a bale chamber communicating with one end of the feed area (1) and a bale plunger (25) reciprocable within the bale chamber, the two support members (6, 10) being constrained to move in continuous loop-like paths during a lower run of which one of the support members (6) leads and the other (10) trails as the feed fingers (7, 9, 18) engage the crop material within the feed area (1) and transfer the crop material towards, respectively into the bale chamber, at least one of the feed fingers (18) being mounted on the trailing support member (10) to ensure that crop material disposed at the other end of the feed area (1) is moved towards the bale chamber, thereby preventing an accumulation of crop material at the other end of the feed area.

  • Patent number: 4258540
Abstract: An agricultural baler of monocoque construction having a fore-and-aft extending bale case, and a first rigid member connected at one end to the bale case intermediate its ends and extending away therefrom in a transverse direction, the bale case and the rigid member forming a self-supporting structure adapted to support further components thereof. A second rigid member may be provided attached at one end to the bale case.

  • Patent number: 4236372
Abstract: An agricultural harvesting machine comprises a frame, a crop pick-up mechanism mounted on the frame for flotational movement with respect thereto, and counterbalancing means operable to counterbalance at least a portion of the weight of the pick-up mechanism. The counterbalancing means comprise a combined sheave structure rotatably mounted on the frame and having a first sheave coaxial with the axis of rotation, and a second sheave connected for rotational movement with the first sheave and having a nonuniform radius relative to the axis of rotation, resilient means coupled between the frame and the sheave structure and first and second interconnecting means interconnecting the combined sheave structure with the pick-up means and the resilient means respectively.

  • Patent number: 4201033
Abstract: A disc mower which is silent in operation and simple to maintain. The mower comprises a casing (1) on top of which is mounted at least one pair of rotatable cutter discs (8) driven by a belt transmission (9) housed within the casing (1). The casing (1) has a base portion (3) and an upper portion (2) hingedly connected together along one edge and releasably secured together by a plurality of skids (33-37) which in use are contactable with the ground to support the mower.

  • Patent number: 3936208
Abstract: A road marker stud of cat's eye is made of a rubber housing and is to be adhered to the road surface. The housing is provided with surface channels or cavities which divide it into substantially independent flex zones. At least one reflector element is housed in a side face of the housing, the side face extending parallel to one of the channels or cavities. The stresses of impacting wheels are thereby better accommodated.

  • Patent number: 3930308
Abstract: The invention concerns connectors having an elongate spring body of elastomer or formed as a tubular spring about which a single layer wire coil is wound. The coil turns are separated by cutting the coil longitudinally of the body to define discrete conductive paths of C-shape extending round part of the circumferential profile of the body. Exposed surface portions of the wires present contact points in a row along the body. Each C-shaped turn may present a pair of diametrically opposite contacts. The coil may be wound about a former disposed beside the spring body so that on cutting the turn portions at the former leads to the individual C-shaped turn portions extend freely from the spring body.
