  • Publication number: 20190079065
Abstract: Method for distinctly characterizing and quantifying the pyritic sulfur and the organic sulfur of a sedimentary rock sample. A rock sample is subjected to a heating sequence in an inert atmosphere, the effluents resulting from this heating in an inert atmosphere are continuously oxidized, the SO2 released is continuously measured, and a pyrolysis sulfur content and a pyrolysis pyritic sulfur content are deduced therefrom. The residue from heating in an inert atmosphere is then heated in an oxidizing atmosphere, the SO2 released is continuously measured and at least an oxidation sulfur content is deduced therefrom. The pyritic sulfur content is determined from the pyrolysis pyritic sulfur content and from a weighting function taking account of a first parameter representing a pyrite thermal degradation rate, a second parameter representing the impact of the mineral matrix and a third parameter representing the impact of the organic matrix.

  • Publication number: 20190075342
Abstract: A video streaming method for transitioning between multiple sequences of coded video data may include receiving and decoding transmission units from a first sequence of coded video data. In response to a request to transition to a second sequence of coded video data, the method may determine whether a time to transition to the second sequence of coded video data can be reduced by transitioning to the second sequence of coded video data via an intermediate sequence of coded video data. If the time can be reduced, the method may include receiving at least one transmission unit from an intermediate sequence of coded video data that corresponds to the request to transition, decoding the transmission unit from the intermediate sequence, and transitioning from the first sequence to the second sequence via the decoded transmission unit from the intermediate sequence.

  • Patent number: 10162967
Abstract: A system for evaluating a target file includes an endpoint computer that receives similarity digests of legitimate files, receives a target file, and generates a similarity digest of the target file. The endpoint computer determines whether or not the target file is legitimate based on a comparison of the similarity digest of the target file against the similarity digests of the legitimate files. The system further includes a backend computer system that receives the legitimate files, generates the similarity digests of the legitimate files, and provides the similarity digests of the legitimate files to the endpoint computer.

  • Patent number: 10148970
Abstract: Scalable video coding and multiplexing compatible with non-scalable decoders is disclosed. In some embodiments, video data is received and encoded in a manner that renders at least a base layer to be compatible with a non-scalable video encoding standard, including by assigning for at least the base layer default values to one or more scalability parameters. In some embodiments, video data is received and encoded to produce an encoded video data that includes a base layer that conforms to a non-scalable video encoding standard and one or more subordinate non-scalable layers, which subordinate non-scalable layers do not by themselves conform to the non-scalable video encoding standard but which can he combined with the base layer to produce a result that does conform to the non-scalable video encoding standard, such that the result can be decoded by a non-scalable decoder.

  • Patent number: 10078750
Abstract: Social messages sent or posted by users of a social networking service are collected. Compromised social networking accounts are identified from the collected social messages. Keywords indicative of compromised social networking accounts are extracted from social messages of identified compromised social networking accounts. The keywords are used as search terms in a search query for additional social messages. Additional compromised social networking accounts are identified from search results that are responsive to the search query.

  • Patent number: 10027702
Abstract: Malicious shortened uniform resource locators are identified by collecting online messages in a computer. Senders and uniform resource locators are extracted from the collected online messages. Sender controlled components are identified in the uniform resource locators. Groups of sender controlled components and senders are formed. Shortened uniform resource locators associated with sender controlled components that are members of malicious groups are identified as malicious.

  • Patent number: 9999893
Abstract: A mist generating apparatus is provided. The apparatus has a longitudinal axis and comprises first and second opposing surfaces which define a transport fluid nozzle between them. The apparatus also has a working fluid passage having a supply passage connectable to a supply of working fluid, and an outlet on one of the first and second surfaces. The working fluid outlet communicates with the transport fluid nozzle. The transport fluid nozzle has a nozzle inlet connectable to a supply of transport fluid, a nozzle outlet, and a throat portion intermediate the nozzle inlet and nozzle outlet. The nozzle throat has a cross sectional area which is less than that of either the nozzle inlet—or the nozzle outlet. The transport fluid nozzle projects radially from the longitudinal axis such that the nozzle defines a rotational angle of at least 5 degrees about the longitudinal axis.

  • Publication number: 20170264750
Abstract: A network element of an Internet Protocol multimedia subsystem buffers network resource usage information in the cloud. After generating network resource usage information based on an observation of network resource usage, the network element transmits the network resource usage information to a cloud-based storage service for buffering. Once a network resource usage collection function is available, the network element retrieves the network resource usage information from the cloud-based storage service and transmits it to a charging collection function for generation of call detail records.
