  • Patent number: 9000003
Abstract: The present invention is anti-folate antimalarials with dual-binding modes of the general formula (I) [refer to structure in the abstract] wherein R1 and R2 which may be the same or different are independently selected from methyl or ethyl or alkylphenyl, R3 is independently hydrogen, halide, lower alkyl substituted with ester, carboxylic, amide, and ether. Linker is X(CH2)nY wherein X and Y which may be the same or different are independently selected from oxygen, carbon, nitrogen, substituted phenyl where n is an integer from 1 to 2-6, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts therefore. The anti-folate antimalarials with dual-binding modes act as novel inhibitors with good inhibition constants against wild-type, double (C59R+SIOSN), triple (N51+C59R+SIOSN, C59R+S 1 OSN+I164L), and quadruple (N51+C59R+S108N+I164L) mutant enzymes. The compounds are also effective against wild type (Tm4/S.2) and mutants (K1CB1, W2, Cs1-2 and V1/S) malaria parasites.

  • Publication number: 20120190502
Abstract: The invention comprises a method and/or an apparatus using computer configured exercise equipment and an electric motor. A computer-controlled robotic resistance system is used for training, diagnosis and/or therapy. The resistance system comprises: a subject interface, software control, a controller, an electric servo assist/resist motor, an actuator, and/or a subject sensor. The system overcomes the limitations of the existing robotic rehabilitation, weight training, and cardiovascular training systems by providing a training and/or rehabilitation system that adapts a resistance or force applied to a user interactive element in response to the user's interaction with the training system, a physiological strength curve, and/or sensor feedback. For example, the system optionally provides for an automatic reconfiguration and/or adaptive load adjustment based upon real time measurement of a user's interaction with the system or sensor based observation by the exercise system as it is operated by the subject.

  • Patent number: 7895181
Abstract: A system that tunes search results is presented. During operation, the system receives content to be searched. The system then iteratively performs the following operations until search results meet specified criteria. The system generates an index of the content based on a set of configuration parameters. Next, the system performs a search against the index to produce the search results. The system then determines whether the search results meet the specified criteria. If the search results do not meet the specified criteria, the system modifies one or more of: the set of configuration parameters; and the content. If the search results meet the specified criteria, the system saves the set of configuration parameters into a configuration file which can be used to generate the index for the content.

  • Patent number: RE42760
Abstract: An electronic commerce process that facilitates online transactions among multiple participants, that prevents consumer fraud due to pirated payment card numbers, with calculated risk, involving at least one trusted payment card host (3), where buyer's payment card number is registered and corresponding secret keys are set up. The buyer (1b) initiates an online transaction by selecting a host from a list of hosts that served by the seller's web server (2a). Then, the buyer participant (1a) sends an order online (4), SSL encrypted. The seller participant (2a) receives and decrypts the order, confirms the availability of ordered items, assigns an orderID to the order, and sends a response (5a), SSL encrypted, to the buyer participant (1a) with the assigned orderID. The buyer participant (1a) encrypts and notifies the selected host (3) of this order and orderID, and authorizes the payment (6a) using secret keys.
